Shin Megami Tensei NINE is the first fully 3D entry in the Shin Megami Tensei series. Takes place during the events of the first game, you explore through a digital world called "Idea Space", a digital recreation of Tokyo before the ICBMs destroyed. However you're eventually recruited by the Central Administration Bureau to take care of the glitches known as "Noise".

The game was supposed to get a online version later on that would have included more demons, items, and online multiplayer before getting scrapped and spun off into Shin Megami Tensei IMAGINE due the original Xbox being unpopular in Japan.

Despite this, the game has been gaining a cult-like status in recent years among for its writing and having the artist Yasuomi Umetsu be the character designer.

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Each city has a alpha xbg file, early model data to show where to the player could originally walk to.
  • Place Maya Amano textures onto Sumire model to see what she looked like as a placeholder.
  • Is there any unused visual effects in the .tpk files?
  • Make a prerelease page covering the TGS reveal and other things. This site mentions some pretty neat unused things like items.
Listed here are tools that be used to extract assets.

Unused Skills

SHOOTING-7STARS and BRIGHT-6STARS were skills used by Beidou Xingjun and Nandou Xingjun in Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner.

These skills are all assigned to unused demons. HIGH-SPEED-FEAT is assigned to Nandou Xingjun, Masakado, and Beidou Xingjun. SAINT-MARTYRDOM, SHOOTING-7STARS, and BRIGHT-6STARS are assigned to Tokisada, Beidou Xingjun, and Nandou Xingjun, respectively.

In the game's files, there's a debug folder that contains the file called debug.xpr.
