Hmmm...
To do:
  • Leftover debug menu routines such as 0x001434d8 nwCreatePopupMenu.
  • Outtakes.

Maken Shao: Demon Sword is an updated re-release of Maken X in third-person.

Unused Graphics

The graphics for the game's options menu includes an option to access the Sound Test and Museum. These modes can only be accessed through the main menu after unlocking them rendering these two graphics unused.

While the Info section is the same between Maken X and Shao, Atlus decided to not update the illustration cards for Marguerite, the B.S. Reconstruction Soldiers, and Vienna to use the B.S. Reconstruction Soldiers updated insignia and instead chose to disable these three cards from appearing in the Info section altogether rendering them unused.

Unused Music

The song RISKY can be found along the game's tracks but goes unused. In Maken X this song would play after entering the sewers in London, due to either an intentional design choice or a bug this no longer happens in Shao.

Unused Sounds

An Iron Maiden coughing. This was used in Maken X when they perform a counter attack, which they no longer do in Shao.

Regional Differences

In the European release, save points in Amsterdam will display "I was going to do it on my own." instead of the generic "Save the game data now?" all other save points in the game use when activated. This does not happen in the Japanese version as the Amsterdam save points use the same message as the others.

Debug Toggles

Apply the following codes for the EU version of the game to enable a few debug options.

202DE424 00000001 Toggles GOD mode. Grants unlimited health.
202DE428 00000001 Toggles noclip mode. Hold X to clip through collision.
2034BCA8 00000001 Toggles Debug attack view. Enables debug markers over things that make damage.
2034BCB0 00000001 Renders the player invisible. Enemies can still see you.
