This article is a work in progress. ...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes. |
To do:
|
Persona Q2 is the sequel to the first title, now with Persona 5 elements, and a surprise appearance of the female protagonist from Persona 3 Portable added to the mix. Sadly, it came out too late in the 3DS' lifespan and flopped at the box office.

Placeholder messages for P3 Heroine, P3 Hero, and Aigis joining your party roster. Hamuko and Kitaro are fandom nicknames for the protagonists: Hamuko when the Japanese fandom disassembled the kanji "公" from "女性主人公" (Female Main Character), which looks like "ハム" when turned on it's side; and Kitaro for how the P3 Hero's hair resembles the protagonist, Kitaro, from GeGeGe no Kitaro.

Missing Voice Lines for P3 Protagonist Summoning Messiah
Located in sound\battle\ is a file called btl_voice.h.
This file contains information about all of the voice lines located in the acb/awb pair files of the same name in this directory.
Curiously however, P3 Protagonist has listed lines for summoning Messiah, something he cannot do in the final release. More curious is that these voice lines are also missing from the game's files entirely.
These voice lines would later be found and repurposed in Persona 5 Royal as they reused the voices for the Protagonist DLC Challenge Battles.

メサイア! | Messiah! | |
来い!メサイア! | Come, Messiah! |
Repurposed DLC Persona
Based on the above oddity, we know at some point Messiah was to be P3 Protagonist's chosen Persona.
However, this was changed to Orpheus Telos in the final version of the game (presumably so he and his female counterpart wouldn't have to share the same Persona again).
It would seem Orpheus Telos itself was originally a DLC Persona, based on its Persona ID being in the middle of the DLC Personas, as well as all other 3 Wild Card protagonists having unused audio for summoning it too.

Placeholder Opening
Filename: psq_dummy. A placeholder opening, with an early rendition of the main theme, Road Less Taken, starting with an early Persona Q2 logo, concept art of the setting and the Phantom Thieves, with P3 Heroine, in a film reel, transitioning to a bunch of PQ assets, then doing an All Out Attack. A tentative title, displaying:
Persona Q2 Genre: Dungeon RPG Hardware: Nintendo 3DS Releasing Fall 2018
Then cutting to static, then the Phantom Thieves logo transforming into a super deformed "chibi" form. A message from Joker (voiced by Jun Fukuyama) plays over about his group entering an unknown labyrinth-like world. The second half of this video was played at Persona Super Live P-Sound Bomb!! 2017 as its teaser trailer.
