Originally started as an amateur radio shop in 1973, Hudson Soft would quickly shift their focus towards the home computer market, leading them down the path of becoming one of the most famous and prolific video game companies of the 80s and 90s (even having the honor of being the very first third-party to publish games for Nintendo's Famicom!). Perhaps best known for Bomberman, Adventure Island, their wealth of shoot-em-ups (and their associated Caravan events, some of the very first video game competitions in the world) and especially developing every entry of the Mario Party series up until Mario Party 8.

Unfortunately, as many gamers probably know, they would end up becoming a subsidiary of Konami in 2011, later officially closing their doors on March 1st, 2012.
