Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl |
---|
Also known as: Pocket Monsters Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (JP/KR) This game has unused animations. |
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion. Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article? |
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are remakes of the original Generation IV games and the first mainline entries to not be developed by Game Freak (although Junichi Masuda did still serve as director). It turned out to be rather divisive due to its numerous glitches and being faithful to a fault when compared to previous remakes in the series - most notably, its minimal new content and lacking many of the story and gameplay improvements from Platinum.
Unlike previous remakes, these games are limited to the first 493 Pokémon available in Gen IV, with the new Grand Underground and Ramanas Park (replacing the original's Underground and Pal Park, respectively) allowing you to catch most of the Pokémon not native to Sinnoh.

Unseen Animations
As with every other companion trainer in the game, Barry has a fully-featured run animation, but it goes unused in the final game. This is because it is only programmed to work when the player is running, and the player isn't given the Running Shoes until after your rival accompanies them to Lake Verity. However, it can be seen if the player uncaps the frame rate through an emulator, or by modding.

Hidden Music
To do: Rip these from the game and add them here as audio files instead of YouTube videos. |
Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl have two music tracks hidden in the files (NAZO_A and NAZO_B), presumably composed/arranged by Junichi Masuda, as he's credited for the games' music despite his style not appearing amidst Shota Kageyama's contributions to the soundtrack. As "Nazo" is Japanese for "Mystery" (Mystery Zone in Japanese is なぞの場所), this may have been planned for Mystery Zone, which used a slightly modified version of the Route 206 (Day) music in the original games.
Unseen Models
This page or section needs more images. There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this. Specifically: List the trainers that have fully-modeled hair. |
Most of the trainer models that wear hats have fully-modeled hair.

Hotel Grand Lake NPC
An NPC in Hotel Grand Lake mentions landmarks from regions featured in previous Pokémon games, including Johto's Bell Tower (originally named “Tin Tower” in Gold/Silver/Crystal and Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, but re-translated since HeartGold/SoulSilver). All languages use the updated name from HGSS, except English.
