This game was never completed and/or given a public release. As a result of this, keep in mind that the developers might have used or deleted some of the content featured here, had the game actually been released.

SegaSonic Bros. is an arcade puzzle game from 1992 that features official Sonic recolors long before the conception of DeviantArt. It's also notable for having an early version of Sonic the Hedgehog 3's Blue Spheres theme as one of the main tracks.

The game went unreleased due to performing poorly during its location test in Japan, but the ROM was eventually found and dumped. It was made playable in MAME from Version 0.236, and was also unofficially ported to the Genesis.

(Note that the currently-available ROM is not the dump from the original PCB. It is a dump of a version that had been modified to work on a multi-game board then re-extracted to make it standalone again. As such, it is possible that there are a few differences from the original code in here.)

Unused Sprites

The ROM includes sprites for Sonic's band members, a concept from the development of Sonic the Hedgehog that never ended up being used. Despite that, Vector the Crocodile went on to co-star in Knuckles' Chaotix.
