The sparkle of the supernova, again! Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA 2 introduced key features to the DDR series, like the Marvelous judgment in regular play and the maximum score of 1,000,000.

Regional differences

The Japanese and Asian releases use Japanese for their game menus and the tutorial, including the latter's audio. The North American release uses English for its game menus and the tutorial.

For the Asian release, the use of Japanese is in contrast to the previous SuperNOVA game, which uses English instead of Japanese.

The North American release also changed certain song banners from Japanese to English.

Revisional Differences

Saturn

The original release of Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA 2 for the arcade features an original mix of "Saturn" by Mr. Saturn as an unlockable song. It is not available in any other game. The PlayStation 2 version was released on February 21, 2008 in Japan, with "Saturn" receiving a new mix. This version of the song was made available to online Japanese SuperNOVA 2 arcade machines with an e-Amusement update, replacing the original mix. The new mix is also present in Dance Dance Revolution X and all subsequent DDR arcade games worldwide as one of the default songs.
