Star Wars: Republic Commando
Star Wars: Republic Commando |

Developer: LucasArts This game has unused areas. This game has a prerelease article |
This article is a work in progress. ...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes. |
Star Wars: Republic Commando is a first-person squad-based tactical shooter game. Think Rainbow Six with a Star Wars lick of paint. Taking place between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith (and it tying into Episode III was even a selling point on the box), you play as RC-1138 (AKA "Boss") the leader of Delta Squad, a specially-augmented clone commando team.
It's notable for featuring absolutely no Force trickery or Lightsaber action of any kind, instead being a down-and-dirty story about the troops.

Unused Areas
1138 Map
Found inside the maps folder, this map can be loaded via open 1138 console command.
This map was used as showcase and level select during game events. It features unused graphics and early development texts.
Interestingly for the game's time period, a lot of the placeholder images show the roundel symbol of the Galactic Empire (shown by the swolen edges on the spokes and lines connecting them to the outer ring) rather than the eight- or six-pronged Galactic Republic sigil.
Other Missing Maps
Each campaign map starts with three letters followed by numeric indexing, however certain indexes are skipped and nowhere to be found.
The Geonosian campaign lacks geo_02 maps, the point between killing Sun Fac and destroying the jamming device of the droid foundry. geo_03b is also missing, a segment which would have taken place between destroying the jamming device and advancing to the foundry.
geo_01a - Extreme Prejudice geo_01b - Into the Hive geo_01c - The Strength of Brothers geo_03a - Infiltrate the Droid Foundry geo_03c - The Heart of the Machine geo_03d - Destroy the Factory geo_04a - Advance to the Core Ship geo_04b - Canyons of Death geo_04c - To own the Skies geo_04d - Territory geo_05a - Infiltration of the Core Ship geo_05b - Waking the Giant geo_05c - Belly of the Beast
The kashyyyk campaign is even more incomplete. yyy_01a is missing as well as any yyy_02 maps.
The showcase map mentioned something about scouting which could have been part of the missing files.
yyy_03 maps are present in-game, but got renamed to yyy_35 for some reason. yyy_04d, which would have taken place between the "Advance to the Bridge" parts, is also missing.
yyy_01b - The Rescue of Tarfful yyy_01c - Hard Contact yyy_01d - From the Shadows yyy_01e - The Bodyguards yyy_04a - The Bridge at Kachirho yyy_04b - Frontline yyy_04c - The Gauntlet yyy_04e - Detour yyy_04f - A Bridge too far yyy_05a - The Wookiee Resistance yyy_05b - Behind Enemy Lines yyy_05c - V.I.W. yyy_05d - Saving Ammo yyy_05e - Live Ordnance yyy_05f - Fate of the Resistance yyy_06a - Search and Destroy yyy_06b - Heart of the Citadel yyy_06c - Moving Upstream yyy_06d - The Final Strike yyy_35a - Obliterate the Outpost yyy_35b - Aim for the Heart yyy_35c - Critical Strike

Phidna
Another Geonosian native species, this tiny yellow bug once more goes unused despite that.
