The texture resolution is strong with this one.
Vault Rejects
The vault.kpf archive contains a folder labelled "To_Add", containing materials that, surprisingly enough, weren't added to the final ingame version of the Vault.
Image | Filename | Description |
---|---|---|
AGAGOOD.png | A very placeholder mission briefing in the default DeluxePaint font, written from Jan's perspective, for the mission "Talay: Tak City". | |
AVENGE.GMD | (todo) | Music data for the unreleased Avenger mission. Needs investigating. |
CITYMUS2.GMD | (todo) | Music data. Needs investigating. |
COVE0000.png | An unfinished promotional render featuring some Stormtroopers with dislocated hands and oddly bare feet. | |
CUT1.gif | A very early, unused cutscene consisting of flat, untextured polygons. Appears to be an early version of Kyle's ship docking somewhere in front of expectant humanoid shapes. | |
HANGER.gif | A very early, unused cutscene consisting of flat, untextured polygons. Appears to be a TIE Interceptor floating around aimlessly in the flat vacuum of a bluescreen for an extremely long time. | |
IMP_OF06.png | A very early pre-rendered sprite of the Imperial Officer enemy, ready to be drawn over by eager pixel artists. | |
J_CUTST.gif | A very early, unused cutscene consisting of flat, untextured polygons. Appears to be an early version of Kyle's ship (with an untextured A-Wing model used as a placeholder) landing somewhere and being buzzed by an X-Wing. | |
MOTHMA2.png | Work-in-progress pixel art for Mon Montha. | |
SECBASE-MSG.png | A very placeholder mission briefing using a generic san-serif font, for the mission "Secret Base". | |
ST-RNDR.gif | The very early Stormtrooper sprites from the Vault, running, shooting and dying from five different angles. | |
ST-TRN.gif | The very early Stormtrooper sprites from the Vault, performing an unused "turn on your heel" animation from five different angles. | |
ST-WALK.gif | The very early Stormtrooper sprites from the Vault, marching forwards from five different angles. | |
screenshots/DTENT1.png | A screenshot released as a promotional image leading up to the games release, but without the second Stormtrooper. | |
screenshots/DTENT2.png | The promotional image from above, revealing that the second Stormtrooper was Photoshopped (Deluxepainted?) in after-the-fact! A bullshot! The scandal! | |
screenshots/DTENT2A.png | That image again, but with the bridge texture and the sky altered in post. This one seemingly wasn't released, seemingly considered Perhaps A Bit Much for post-process massaging. | |
screenshots/MIDHALL1.png | An extremely early screenshot, depicting a corridor similar that seen in the box art with a Doom-style centered Stormtrooper Rifle. | |
screenshots/MIDHALL2.png | A different area of the same extremely-early build, with the early Stormtroopers lurking around. | |
screenshots/SCSHOT00.png | A different area of the same extremely-early build. | |
screenshots/STARD2.png | A publicly-released promotional image, oddly released alongside shots that more accurately depicted what the final game looked like! | |
screenshots/STARD.png | An earlier version of the shot, in which the player is firing their weapon and the Stormtrooper is not. More post-screenshot modification? |
