MS-DOS (then called PC-DOS), Microsoft's first major operating system appears on the market. Epoch releases the Cassette Vision in Japan and becomes the best selling video game system in the country for the next two years. Donkey Kong is released, becoming the first major landmark title for Nintendo. Two highly-successful RPG games, Ultima and Wizardry, are also released.
