The Wii Super Mario All-Stars was released to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Super Mario Bros. Unfortunately, it's just a mostly-unchanged ROM image of the SNES game (not even the + Super Mario World revision, likely due to it never releasing in Japan) packaged with a Virtual Console emulator with Wiimote support added, slapped onto a Wii disc - something which looked especially lazy on Nintendo's part thanks to coming after Metroid Prime Trilogy. In fact, the contents take up so little space that it holds the record for being the smallest retail Wii disc.

See here for differences in the embedded SNES ROM.

Leftover Data

Manual Data

Found in the folder content5 in the Wii disc image is a file called Opera.arc which contains more files such as filter.ini, input.ini, opera.ini, and vcmv_skin.zip. This is related to the manuals present in Virtual Console titles.

Apparently a leftover from the Wii VC demo titles built into Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Amusingly, in the Japanese version, it's been only partially edited to match this game's title, but in the US and European versions it's been fully edited.
