Hmmm...
To do:
Find out what versions the Specialty items were added and removed from.

It's Monkey vs Monkey in an epic bloon-popping clash!

Unused Graphics

Located in their own separate folders High and Low, two debug fonts exist in the game's files. A higher resolution debug font can be found in the High folder, while a lower resolution debug font can be found in the Low folder.

Unused Code

In old versions of the game, there was an unused folder named SpecialtyDefinitions, which is the same name as the folder in Bloons TD 5 for holding Specialty Building data. However, the folder here is different, as it features completely unused "items" that would have been obtained in some unknown way. They appear to have a range of 3 rarities: Bronze, Silver, and Gold, ranking how useful and/or rare they are. Most of the items have effects on towers that are reminiscent of upgrades from specialty buildings in Bloons TD 5, and they all have icons referenced but don't seem to exist. As some items require certain towers placed, they probably would've been used in-game and selected before one started, only applicable if your loadout has the specific towers needed for the effects.

This folder, alongside the data in it, was removed in an unknown later version of the game.

Name Rarity Description Effects Note
Amulet of Sacrifice Bronze "-10% cost of all towers and upgrades, -5% attack speed on all towers" Modifies tower attack cooldown to 1.05 (decreasing attack speed by 5%) and tower costs to 0.9 (decreasing cost by 10%).
Arcane Staff Gold "Apprentice has additional seeking bolt attack" Self-explanatory Likely would have been similar to the attack from the Tier 3 upgrade of the Monkey Apprentice specialty building in Bloons TD 5.
Banana Vacuum Silver "Bloonchipper collects nearby bananas automatically" Self-explanatory Likely would have been similar to the mechanic from the Tier 4 upgrade of the Bloonchipper specialty building in Bloons TD 5. The item name and description is also identical to the ones that upgrade has.
Binoculars Silver ""+10% attack speed to Mortars, Requires 2 Snipers" Modifies Mortar attack cooldown to 0.9 (increasing attack speed by 10%) if 2 Sniper Monkeys are placed.
Cooling Fan Bronze "-5% ability cooldown" Modifies tower ability cooldown to 0.95 (reducing ability cooldown by 5%)
Energy Drink Silver "+5 seconds to tower boost" Self-explanatory Seemingly incomplete, as the Effects section in the files is empty.
Explosive Darts Gold "Dart Monkey fires explosive darts" Self-explanatory Likely would have been similar to the mechanic from the Tier 4 upgrade of the Dart Monkey specialty building in Bloons TD 5.
Explosive Gel Silver "Bombs tower projectiles move faster, Requires Mortar" none, but it would've required 1 Mortar Tower placed. Seemingly incomplete, as the Effects section in the files is empty.
Flaming Cannon Gold "Replaces Bucanneers dart attack with flaming cannon" (sic) Darts fired now pop lead bloons. Likely would have been similar to the attack from the Tier 4 upgrade of the Monkey Buccaneer specialty building in Bloons TD 5.
Glue Bucket Bronze "+10% to glue gunners glue effect" Multiples glue slow effect by 0.9 (slowing bloons by 140%)
Golden Shuriken Gold "Ninja Monkey shurikens last much longer" Multiples projectile cutoff distance by 2 (730 total).
Inspiring Flag Bronze "+5% attack speed to all towers" Modifies tower attack cooldown to 0.95 (increasing attack speed by 5%)
Iron Gloves Bronze "5% chance any shot will have double pierce" Increases double pierce chance to 0.05 (5%) Similar to the BTD5 popping power lab upgrade.
Lunchbox Bronze "Banannas from farms take twice as long to disappear" (sic) Self-explanatory Seemingly incomplete, as the Effects section in the files is empty.
Monkarang Gold "Boomerang Monkey fires 2 boomerangs instead of 1" Self-explanatory Likely would have been similar to the attack from the Tier 4 upgrade of the Boomerang Thrower specialty building in Bloons TD 5. Interestingly enough, the description calls Boomerang Throwers "Boomerang Monkeys", which is what they would later be called in Bloons TD 6.
Mounted Dartling Guns Gold "Adds forward firing gunners to Monkey Ace" Self-explanatory Likely would have been similar to the attack from the Tier 3 upgrade of the Monkey Ace specialty building in Bloons TD 5.
Oiled Gears Silver "+20% attack speed to Spike Factory, Requires 2 Engineers" Modifies Spike Factory's tower attack cooldown to 0.80 (increasing attack speed by 20%), requiring 2 Monkey Engineers placed to apply the effects.
Shard of Everfrost Bronze "+10% duration to freeze effect" Multiples Ice Tower's Bloon freeze duration by 1.1 (a 10% increase) The name of this item is a reference to a special item in Bloons Monkey City, where it has a similar purpose.
Signal Flare Silver "+20% range to Monkey Villages, Requires 5 Dart Monkeys" Modifies Monkey Village tower range to 1.2 (increasing it by 20%), requiring 5 Dart Monkeys to enable that effect.
Spell Book Silver "+5% attack speed on all towers. 5% chance any shot will have double pierce. -5% cost of all towers and upgrades. -10% attack speed to Apprentice. +10% cost of Apprentice and upgrades. Requires Apprentice" Modifies double pierce chance to 0.05 (5%), tower attack cooldown to 0.95 (increasing attack speed by 5%), tower cost to 0.95 (decreasing it by 5%), Apprentice attack cooldown to 1.10 (increasing it by 10%), and Apprentice cost to 1.10 (increasing it by 10%). Beside the double pierce chance, the Monkey Apprentice does not get any buffs here, but 1 placed in-game is required for them and the nerfs to be active.
Stinger Silver "Road spikes pop 50% more bloons" none Seemingly incomplete, as the Effects section in the files is empty. This item is especially odd since road spikes don't exist in this game (not counting Spike Factory).
Straw Fuse Silver "Pinapple countdown speed doubled" (sic) none Seemingly incomplete, as the Effects section in the files is empty. This item is especially odd since pineapple road items don't exist in this game (not counting Monkey Ace's Pineapple Express upgrade).
Titanium Tacks Gold "Tack shooter has +1 pierce" Modifies Tack Shooter popping power(pierce) by 1 Likely would have been similar to the effect from the Tier 4 upgrade of the Tack Shooter specialty building in Bloons TD 5.
Wooden Gavel Bronze "+5% tower sell price" Modifies tower sell price by 0.05 (increasing it by 5%)
X-Ray Visor Gold "Super Monkey can pop camo" Modifies Super Monkey tower so it can pop Camo bloons. Would have been similar to the Tier 3 upgrade of the Super Monkey specialty building in Bloons TD 5.

Removed Upgrades

In update 6.18 of the game, the Bloonchipper's 3-x upgrade was renamed from Dual Layer Blades to Triple Layer Blades, with the upgrade description updated to reflect the change. Then, in update 6.20, the Triple Layer Blade upgrade has been replaced with the previously tier 4 upgrade, Super Wide Funnel, with a new, exclusive upgrade, Omni-Shredder, taking place of the tier 4 upgrade. This update has also changed the in-game model of the tier 3 Bloonchipper by giving the tower a bigger tube to reflect this change.
