My Userbob

I have a question for you, why did you edit my own user page and how were you able to do it, because 1 only me and admins can my user page (even if it's not the admins' page) and 2 your not even an admin (I even checked myself), I know I can make mistakes sometimes, but please don't edit my user page unless it has real errors (like typos or no plurals). --TCRFJNPoop (talk) 18:00, 17 May 2021 (BST)

User pages are not protected from being edited by other users by default (unless an admin restricts edit access, and it's discouraged editing other users' pages).
However, Hawk and I wrote the Userbob template under advice by Rusty to provide an alternative to Bob for userpages (told this on the TCRF Discord server).
After that, Rusty updated the Bob template with a warning that says that now using Bob on userpages is forbidden and to use the Userbob instead so, instead of waiting for the whole wiki users to change it, we also updated the users' pages to comply. Everything was done in good faith and no TCRF administrator complained about that (they appreciated it instead).
That's all. --ΓBSOD 17:32, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
Oh, I see now, I didn't actually know there was a new guideline until today since I wasn't in TCRF.net editing at all, I do apologize for this rant, it's just that I never knew that anyone (not just admins) can edit user pages if it's not there's by default (come to think of it, Ehm actually protected some pages like the 'Getting Started on TCRF' to be admin edit only when he's not one of them, but that's because he used to actually be an admin but not anymore, I also didn't know that users can retire being an admin and go back to a standard user, I've seen this on the history section of some pages), but thanks for letting me know anyway. --TCRFJNPoop (talk) 19:52, 17 May 2021 (BST)
I appreciate your apology, don't worry about it. --ΓBSOD 19:53, 17 May 2021 (UTC)

Mar&Lui

"If is truly the same voice sample, I don't see a valid reason to remove this info" <--- It is my understanding that 1) it's trivia 2) not unused 3) such information should go in the Luigi's Mansion 3 page instead (if it were unused). ReyVGM (talk) 16:29, 30 June 2021 (UTC)

  1. If unused content in a game X was later used in the game Y is worth noting it on the game X page, it's not just "trivia", it's telling to the reader "hey, this thing is found unused in this game but was used later in another game".
  2. Unused content in the game X is still unused content in the game X even if was used later in another game.
  3. Is purely nonsensical to talk about unused content from a GBA game only on the page of an unrelated Switch one, but is ok to do what point #1 & #2 say (what point #2 says must be considered always)
  4. Bonus!!! Don't act like a sysop, please!
--ΓBSOD 16:51, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
Before you start complaining again, here are the reasons of my other reverts:
  1. The Apprentice (CD-i): it's not wrong to report the origin of a game that derives from something hidden in this one.
  2. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars: pointing out that something is still unused in a later game related to it is not wrong either (the Paper Mario page also talks about this game and later ones).
  3. Crystalis (NES): Virtual Console/Switch Online changes are worth documenting as are differences between versions of the game (you can find also other games with them).
  4. Castlevania II: Simon's Quest: if that unused item graphic was the basis of something used in later games, it's ok to say it on the page.

Help with pre-release page

Hi,

Newbie here.

Could you move and create this pre-release article to it's appropriate page?

Done! The next time use a regular ASCII : character and please don't remove stuff from talk pages, even when what you asked is no longer necessary. --ΓBSOD 14:14, 8 July 2021 (UTC)

Source

Can you help me with that last image scan it needs it's source Psxdriverplayer added to it. I somehow tried to fix it myself but not sure if I did it correctly.

Just write that was made by them in the image page. What are you doing about that page is good, but I strongly suggest you to read and understand the guidelines before continuing editing on the wiki, just to understand better how to edit pages. --ΓBSOD 14:46, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
Done, thanks. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Konnisu (talk • contribs) 14:48, 8 July 2021‎ (UTC)

Image

Had to replace this one you changed because of a logo that was on it which I removed using photoshop but by doing this some textures also got messed up with the clone stamp tool however I found another version of the same image without the logo on it so I will replace it with that one now.

https://tcrf.net/File:The_World_Is_Not_Enough_Frinesi.jpg

With this one

https://tcrf.net/File:The_World_Is_Not_Enough_Frinesi2.jpg The preceding unsigned comment was added by Konnisu (talk • contribs) 17:00, 9 July 2021‎ (UTC)

Next time use Upload a new version of this file on the file page instead of doing this. --ΓBSOD 17:04, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
No Photoshops of pre-release images are allowed, and that logo is barely visible (got tricked into thinking that the images were identical) --ΓBSOD 17:14, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
Ok understood
Can you put the one where it says Better, non photoshopped version without logo as the main image because I can't figure out how to do it. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Konnisu (talk • contribs) 17:17, 9 July 2021‎ (UTC)
Reverting revisions works like this, I can't do nothing else as only generates other pointless reverted duplicate revisions (and please read the guidelines before continuing editing). --ΓBSOD 17:22, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
Will do the filename wasn't correct anyway it's the Frinesi Auto version instead of the regular Frinesi Shotgun that one also exists in the game as there are two versions of this same shotgun but that wasn't the right one of the two my mistake sry but it's corrected now. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Konnisu (talk • contribs) 17:30, 9 July 2021‎ (UTC)
Next time, instead of creating duplicate pages when changing name to a file, use the Move option in the More dropdown, located near the search bar. And I strongly suggest you to read the guidelines to improve your editing skills. --ΓBSOD 18:14, 9 July 2021 (UTC)

On Power Bomberman

I launched the page early at an unfinished stage because I clicked the wrong button, so the deletion was the right call. However, I thought fan games were allowed on TCRF, since we have page for games like Mario Forever and Super Smash Bros. Crusade?

Anyway, I want to get this discussion solved before considering if the page is worth starting or not. FernandoLemon (talk) 13:00, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

Documenting fan games is allowed only under explicit admin permission (it's written on the guidelines, you didn't ask for it and we didn't grant it yet). For now consider it as a no: tell me here what do you want to document about it here and where I can find more information about this game and I'll let you know on this page our verdict. --ΓBSOD 13:10, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
You can find out more about the game here, as well as on the Discord server, which is included in that forum thread. It's completely free to download and available on both Windows and macOS, if you're looking for a first-hand experience with it. About the content of the game that I plan on talking about if the article ever gets off the ground:
  • A lot of unused text, including unused stage names and gimmicks, item names (some of which also include tutorial text), and character names.
  • Unused sounds, some of which are taken from other games in the franchise.
  • Unused graphics, which includes tiles and previews for unused stages, and placeholder graphics too.
  • Revisional differences, due to the game receiving continuous development, as well as a couple of regional differences between the different in-game languages.
For more specific details about which of these are unused, don't hesitate to ask. These have all been discussed on the game's Discord server before, so the mods are okay with this information being talked about. FernandoLemon (talk) 13:34, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
Our verdict: this particular game fits more on Misc Data Digs than on TCRF, so you're not allowed to document it here but on Misc Data Digs yes. --ΓBSOD 13:47, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
Interesting. I didn't know about that site, but I will be giving it a look. Before closing this topic, any insight as to why this decision was reached? FernandoLemon (talk) 13:52, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
The main reason behind is that, unlike the other two you mentioned and other fan-games present here on the wiki, it's not a particularly notable fan-game. --ΓBSOD 14:16, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

Gargoyle's Quest 2

Hey Waluigi. Can you do something about the Gargoyle's Quest 2 page? User Жукороп did a bunch of page moves and redirects and I can't seem to revert the changes. The page was originally called "Gargoyle's Quest II: The Demon Darkness", but he changed it to "Gargoyle's Quest II (NES)", which is unnecessary because "Gargoyle's Quest II: The Demon Darkness" is a unique name that no other game has. ReyVGM (talk) 15:44, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

I've initially moved the page under only Gargoyle's Quest II, but that user made me note that may generate confusion with the Game Boy port that has a different official title but it's also known as just Gargoyle's Quest II for this fact. Using Gargoyle's Quest II: The Demon Darkness as a full page title doesn't comply with the guidelines (see point 2) because it's only ever shown in-game on the title screen (unlike the Game Boy port, the box label and other related material that can be found just reports Gargoyle's Quest II), so I think everything should stay as it is (I've pointed this also to other staff members and in the case it's decided to change something I'll post an update here). --ΓBSOD 16:41, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing my uploads

I'll make sure to give them the right names and tags next time! The Gremmar Warden (talk) 20:39, 5 August 2021 (UTC)

Thank you!

Thanks for taking care of the TF2 Invasion filenames. I hadn't noticed the filenames initially and I've not been in front of my PC as of late to be able to quickly rename them all myself, so thank you for taking care of that. 👍 4️04️UNF 💬 ✏️ 06:29, 31 August 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for saving my Quest for Glory 3 post!

Thank you so much for sorting out my 4am first attempt at a post here, also while trying to preserve the other contributors original design. I assumed debug mode should go first, and tried to add it to the category Games with Debugging functions instead of just adding the -yes up top. It was rambling, my pictures wouldn't line up, file names everywhere, and I needed sleep but wanted to put it out there so folks would know debug is now on for this game lol. Thanks so much for helping a noob out. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Resinous (talk • contribs) 15:02, 17 October 2021‎ (UTC)

Tom Payne Archive

Thanks for helping me. If this were to become a subpage (say SEGA has a gigaleak of their own), can we make a cropped version of Tom Payne Faces 3 the thumbnail? Fuck Argentina -Maggie 01:45, 21 October 2021 (UTC)

About that hypothetical sub-page icon, I'll leave it to users with more knowledge of SEGA games than me. About the rest I appreciate the feedback, but please stop making these Falklands War jokes and please listen to what CounterDiving said in your talk page. --ΓBSOD 13:05, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
If it's about the tilde signature, I forgot how to change it back. Someone you know die in the Falklands War? Fuck Argentina -Maggie 06:55, 22 October 2021 (UTC)
Yes, it's just about your tilde signature, for the same reason that CounterDiving stated in your talk page. You can change it by clicking on Preferences in the very top-right corner of every page when logged in (alternatively you can click here). In the User profile tab scroll down until you find the Signature section, then change it in the New signature: input field, and then click on the blue Save button in the bottom-left of the page. --ΓBSOD 10:30, 22 October 2021 (UTC)

I need help with formatting

When I add something to the page, the formatting is messed up The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nidoking (talk • contribs) 15:02, 22 October 2021‎ (UTC)

You can find help here. I also suggest you to read the guidelines about images and talk pages. Also don't forget to preview your edits before submitting them by using the Show preview button. --ΓBSOD 15:09, 22 October 2021 (UTC)
