Stolen happily from Sonic Retro. We love you guys, though, really.
NOTE: This is for game articles ONLY. Do not use this on your user page! There is a separate template for this purpose that will not try and categorize whatever random stuff you put in there: Template:Userbob
Usage
{{Bob |noscreen= y |bobscreen= |screenwidth= |title= |aka= |base= |developer= [if only one developer] |developerref= <ref></ref> |developers= [if more than one developer] |publisher= [if only one publisher] |publisherref= <ref></ref> |publishers= [if more than one publisher] |system= [if one system] |arcadesys= [if system=Arcade] |systems= [if more than one system] |world= {{date|}} |japan= {{date|}} |usa= {{date|}} |canada= {{date|}} |mexico= {{date|}} |europe= {{date|}} |uk= {{date|}} |france= {{date|}} |germany= {{date|}} |italy= {{date|}} |spain= {{date|}} |portugal= {{date|}} |nether= {{date|}} |scn= {{date|}} |sweden= {{date|}} |aus= {{date|}} |rus= {{date|}} |korea= {{date|}} |brazil= {{date|}} |china= {{date|}} |taiwan= {{date|}} |asia= {{date|}} |animations= y |areas= y |characters= y |code= y |source= y |devmessage= y |devcredits= y |devtext= y |enemy= y |objects= y |gametype= y |graphics= y |models= y |video= y |items= y |abilities= y |music= y |sound= y |text= y |debug= y |soundtest= y |levelselect= y |region= y |revision= y |piracy= y |bonus= y }}
When creating a new page, copy-paste this, edit the right fields, and remove the categories that don't belong. Simple as that.
Legend
- noscreen: Use this to omit the title screen/default placeholder entirely. Generally, this should not be used, with very few exceptions.
- bobscreen: Screenshot filename (e.g., "Filename.png"). This can be omitted, in which case you just need to click the "no image" placeholder to upload an image.
- screenwidth: Width of the above screenshot, in pixels (e.g., "320px"). Leave blank for auto. Screenshots that are 400px or wider should be resized to 320px to keep the bob at a decent size.
- title: The game's title. If blank, it'll use the page's title.
- aka: The game's title in other regions (e.g., "Super Contra (JP), Probotector 2 (EU)").
- base: Occasionally, instead of directly localizing a game, a developer will opt to build a new, different game based on its code/assets (e.g. "Flying Warriors (US)" is largely based on "Hiryuu no Ken III: 5 Nin no Ryuu Senshi (JP)"). In this case, put the title of the original game it was based on here.
- developer: The game's developer.
- developerref: Contains a reference tag detailing its source, passed as an argument. Should be present to give to the reader some idea where it was obtained from. In case of multiple developers, this parameter cannot be used. How to handle such cases is explained below.
- developers: Developers that made the game for multi-developer games. This should be a comma-separated list of invocations of Template:Developer (e.g. {{developer|Hudson Soft|ref=<ref></ref>}}, {{developer|CAProduction|ref=<ref></ref>}}, etc.). Each invocation should have a reference tag detailing its source inside a ref argument, to give to the reader some idea where it was obtained from.
- publisher: The game's publisher.
- publisherref: Contains a reference tag detailing its source, passed as an argument. Should be present to give to the reader some idea where it was obtained from. In case of multiple publishers, this parameter cannot be used. How to handle such cases is explained below.
- publishers: Publishers that released the game for multi-publisher games, typically used when a game was released in multiple countries. This should be a comma-separated list of invocations of Template:Publisher, along with country codes in parentheses if applicable (e.g. {{publisher|Namco|ref=<ref></ref>}} (JP), {{publisher|Tengen|ref=<ref></ref>}} (US), etc.). Each invocation should have a reference tag detailing its source inside a ref argument, to give to the reader some idea where it was obtained from.
- system: Platform the game was released on, for single-platform titles only.
- arcadesys: If the system is "Arcade", place the specific kind here (e.g., "Sega NAOMI").
- systems: Platforms the game was released on for multi-platform games. This should be a comma-separated list of invocations of Template:System (e.g. {{system|PlayStation 2}}, {{system|Xbox}}, etc.). Only add multiple systems if each version has the same unused content!
- unreleased: Add this if a game is unreleased and contains the Unreleased template, to avoid tagging missing publisher info.
- Dates - Use the Date template for these.
- world: The game's international release date. Use this if there is only one global release date. If not, use the following countries where applicable:
- japan: For Japan.
- usa: For the United States.
- canada: For Canada.
- mexico: For Mexico.
- europe: For Europe.
- uk: For the United Kingdom.
- france: For France.
