|
WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007 is the first game in the series to be on a seventh generation console, it is alive and kicking! It is also notable for continuing the Undertaker Curse, in a very grim way.

Regional Differences
The Japanese PS2 version has no online multiplayer.
Console Differences
To do: Get screenshots of the game in action, and compare them. |
The Xbox 360 version has gotten a major graphical upgrade, the loading screens now are animated, and the layer limit for CAWs was increased to 64.
The PSP version runs in a lower resolution, with the layer limit being reduced to 16 (only 6 being usable to the player), and various downgrades, such as the locker room being just a static image instead of a area you can explore, superstars also no longer have entrance attires.
Title Screen
The title screen of the PSP version is static, while the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2 versions are animated.
Menu
The menu of the PlayStation Portable version renames "Online" to "Wireless Mode" and adds a new feature called "Road to WrestleMania" in the menu, while the Xbox 360 version renames "Online" to "Xbox Live". The Xbox 360 version also allowed you to go back to the title screen.

Create A Wrestler
Aside from the similar menus, the quality of the CAWs varies on different platforms. The PSP version also allows less layers (16, 6 usable by the player, down from 32 in the PlayStation 2 version), while the Xbox 360 increased it to 64.

Loading Screens
The Xbox 360 version adds animations, in which the superstars get swapped with a different superstar or a different pose. In the PS2 and PSP version, they do not change.
Audio
The PSP version removes the in-game commentary, and reuses crowd sounds from the PSP version of WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2006. The in-game music instead plays over the game.
Unused texts
Remnants of text referring to wrestlers removed from the PS2 NTCS (SLUS) version executable file.
The following texts with their location in the file below:
Offset - Text.
0x265698 - ??????. (ID 06) is located between Kurt Angle and Kane. Where Chris Jericho was on Smackdown vs. Raw 2006.
0x2657D8 - Stacy Keibler. (ID 31) where she was on Smackdown vs. Raw 2006.
0x265910 - Joey Styles. The ECW commentator appears to have been set to be in (ID 51) Previously where Referee Earl Hebner was. Maybe it was just a test by THQ or who knows. Joey Styles was later implemented in the following installment Smackdown Vs. Raw 2008.
0x265980 - Tyson Tomko. (ID 63) He was going to be in this installment but it was cancelled due to his departure from the company in April 2006. Until now there has been nothing more of him in the game than said text in the executable. It is worth noting that Paul London was in that ID on Smackdown Vs. Raw 2006.
0x265990 - Orlando Jordan. (ID 64) where he was on Smackdown vs. Raw 2006.
0x2659F8 - Yokozuna. (ID 72) Yokozuna was apparently going to be part of the legends roster for SVR 07 but for some reason his appearance in this installment was scrapped. In SmackDown Vs. Raw 2006 there was the 80s variant of Hulk Hogan while in the final version Jim Ross is the commentator.
0x265AF8 - STAFF. (ID 90) The NPC STAFF members who were hanging around during the SVR 06 backstage match.
0x265B00 - BARTENDER. (ID 91) The NPC Bartender Girl from SVR 06 Bar Backstage Match.
I don't really know what function those references have in the game, but I discovered this while thoroughly exploring the executable of the PS2 NTCS U version. I don't know if XBOX 360 and PSP also have such texts in their respective executables.
