Images

You don't need to reupload an image to change the categorization, just hit the Edit link at the top of the page. Also, be sure to use the proper category names (PlayStation 2, not ps2 or playstation 2) and add the game title to your filenames. (image guidelines)--BMF54123 (talk) 15:33, 16 January 2014 (EST)

Also, JPEG images are not allowed, unless the resource was originally in that format in the game's files. --BMF54123 (talk) 18:14, 18 January 2014 (EST)
I'm going to remind you again to follow the image guidelines we have carefully laid out. NES screenshots must be 256x240, and taken without any sort of filtering applied.
Additionally, the glitched "level" in Non Human was removed because it doesn't appear to be an actual level, just invalid data. You need to provide some actual proof that they intended to include more levels before you can add things like that. --BMF54123 (talk) 03:09, 3 May 2014 (EDT)
NES screenshots must be 256x240 and use the NTSC palette we provide in the guidelines. Please change your emulator settings before you upload any more screenshots. --BMF54123 (talk) 04:51, 27 February 2015 (EST)
232 pixels. Almost there. --BMF54123 (talk) 05:19, 27 February 2015 (EST)
How do I change it on fceux? 232 was the most it gave me when I tried to give it 240.The preceding unsigned comment was added by TheBlueGeek (talk • contribs)
On the help page it describes how to. -Einstein95 (talk) 05:23, 27 February 2015 (EST)
Some of your Genesis screenshots are coming out slightly stretched vertically. Please check your emulator settings and make sure it is not set to stretch/adjust the aspect ratio in any way. Again, instructions for taking proper Genesis screenshots can be found in the image guidelines. --BMF54123 (talk) 07:00, 11 March 2015 (EDT)
Odd, I dont think I have any settings on that do that. TheBluegeek (talk) 11 March 2015
What emulator are you using. -Einstein95 (talk) 07:24, 11 March 2015 (EDT)
The most recent version of Fusion -TheBluegeek (talk) 11 March 2015
Umm... yeah. -Einstein95 (talk) 07:28, 11 March 2015 (EDT)
Ah, gotcha. -TheBluegeek (talk) 11 March 2015
You're still taking resampled screenshots. Please, PLEASE fix this. --BMF54123 (talk) 00:09, 15 March 2015 (EDT)
Some of your C64 screenshots are coming out filtered/resized. Please check your emulator settings, and please remember to double-check your images in the future to make sure this isn't happening. --BMF54123 (talk) 16:46, 10 June 2015 (EDT)

Why are you adding "??px" to your image tags? It doesn't actually do anything. You're supposed to replace the "??" with a numerical value when you want to resize images. --BMF54123 (talk) 03:26, 24 March 2015 (EDT)

Sorry about that! I can't remember the code so I copy+paste it from the help pages. I'll clean it up in the future! TheBluegeek (talk)TheBluegeek

Rugrats .BS Format

Hey, how did you view/convert the .BS format images? --M64m (talk) 20:12, 19 March 2015 (EDT)

I used this this, it's a bit tricky though, you need to know the resolution of the image or it won't display properly or at all. TheBluegeek (talk)TheBluegeek
Cool, thanks. --M64m (talk) 19:42, 20 March 2015 (EDT)

PlayStation Screenshots

What emulator are you using to take PS1 screenshots? --M64m (talk) 19:42, 20 March 2015 (EDT)

PSX, then resizing them with IrfanView TheBluegeek (talk)TheBluegeek
What setting is the resampling option set to? -Einstein95 (talk) 19:46, 20 March 2015 (EDT)
Lanczos TheBluegeek (talk)TheBluegeek
Can you take a screenshot of the Graphics tab in the Configuration window? -Einstein95 (talk) 20:13, 20 March 2015 (EDT)
this? TheBluegeek (talk)TheBluegeek
I meant for pSX, sorry for not being specific. -Einstein95 (talk) 20:41, 20 March 2015 (EDT)
Here ya go] TheBluegeek (talk)TheBluegeek
This might seem a bit redundant, but could you go through your resize method step by step, from capturing in pSX to the final upload? --M64m (talk) 12:38, 21 March 2015 (EDT)
F12 for the screenshot, double the height since they come out as half height and thats it. I should probably mention, that Im taking the screenshots using my physical copies (Which are EU versions) with the emulator to take the screenshots. TheBluegeek (talk)TheBluegeek
Okay, thanks. Check out the recently updated guidelines for PS1 screenshots. Screenshots need to be first resized (no filter) to double height, and then resampled to a 4:3 ratio with Lanczos. --M64m (talk) 12:53, 21 March 2015 (EDT)

GTA PSP/PS2 Games

Hey, would you mind separating the PS2-only info you added to the two Grand Theft Auto PSP pages? Those were meant to cover PSP only, so having PS2 specific articles would be a good idea. --M64m (talk) 03:37, 14 April 2015 (EDT)

The differences between the versions are minimal, so would it be possible to remove the PSP tag and just have the article cover both versions? TheBluegeek (talk)TheBluegeek
Do both versions contain all of the unused content on the page? --M64m (talk) 03:54, 14 April 2015 (EDT)
As far as I know, yes. TheBluegeek (talk)TheBluegeek
I'd still prefer you to separate the content. The PS2 version is a separate build, and contains PSP leftovers. I don't think combining them into one article is a good idea. --M64m (talk) 04:04, 14 April 2015 (EDT)
Gotcha. I'll create a separate article for it then, I'll create one for the Liberty City Stories page as well, since the stuff I added there was found from the PS2 version. TheBluegeek (talk)TheBluegeek
Also, if the same unused content is found in both versions, should I post it in both articles? TheBluegeek (talk)TheBluegeek
If the assets you found in both versions are identical, then yes. --M64m (talk) 04:13, 14 April 2015 (EDT)

Image Tags

Use the {{modelrender}} tag instead of {{rippedgraphic}} for images of model renders. --M64m (talk) 18:31, 19 April 2015 (EDT)

Contra 4 Demo Leftovers

Hi. I'm curious about the demo leftovers you mentioned in the Contra 4 page. I was wondering what you're referring to; are they accessed from the debug menu or otherwise?Emjeeman (talk) 20:21, 11 May 2015 (EDT)

Some demo screens, coming soon etc, files named DEMO_MENU.SCN,DEMOCOMINGSOON.LYR,DEMOTITLEBOTTOM.LYR,DEMOTITLETOP.LYR. I got them to display by swapping some files around, but they appeared corrupted. TheBluegeek (talk)TheBluegeek
I think that stuff is also in the proto; also in the vol 7 download station demo of the game. You can access one of the demo screens from the debug menu of the full game as well.Emjeeman (talk) 20:56, 18 May 2015 (EDT)
While I'm not sure about DEMO_MENU.SCN, the others are definitely used in the Download Station version as well as accessible via the proto. You can use those to get the screenshots of what they look like. -Einstein95 (talk) 21:00, 18 May 2015 (EDT)

Blocked

I hate to do this, but I'm not sure how else to get you to listen. You keep uploading filtered/resized screenshots, and I told you not to do that. We are VERY strict about this. We have guidelines that explain how this is done; please read them again.

If you need more help with taking clean screenshots, or figuring out whether they're filtered in the first place, please visit the IRC channel. This block will expire in one day. --BMF54123 (talk) 19:44, 13 June 2015 (EDT)

Unreleased game publishers

Should we really be removing publisher names from unreleased games? Many unreleased games had known planned publishers; it's not like all unreleased games go unreleased because the publisher bails out. - Andlabs (talk) 22:39, 17 June 2015 (EDT)

I'm just going by how my prototype articles have been handled, they all had the publisher removed by an admin. TheBluegeek (talk)TheBluegeek

Choplifter

So is the answer to my Choplifter NES question "no"? - Andlabs (talk) 22:46, 22 June 2015 (EDT)

Yup, I went through everything and couldn't find anything. TheBluegeek (talk)TheBluegeek
In that case, thanks! - Andlabs (talk) 22:52, 22 June 2015 (EDT)

Graphic Rips

When ripping graphics from older systems (e.g. NES), please leave them at their original size and resize them in the article if necessary. Also, when the palette for a graphic is not known, try to choose a greyscale palette that at least looks somewhat correct. --BMF54123 (talk) 03:22, 12 July 2015 (EDT)

Pit Fighter (SMS)

I somehow overlooked that "ARE YOU MAD" was in the screenshot for when "NINTENDO" was entered. Sorry about that. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 20:13, 16 August 2015 (EDT)

THPS3 Windows/PS2

The titlescreen that you had removed is from the Windows/PS2 version. The PS1 screen looks completely different. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Derf321 (talk • contribs)

No? The one I removed was a screenshot that I took myself for the Ps1 page. TheBluegeek (talk) 08:22, 6 December 2015 (EST)TheBluegeek

THPS4 Windows

Hey, I'm making a page for the Windows version of THPS4 which has similar leftovers to the PS2 version (plus a whole unused level). I noticed you had listed the unused fonts but not the file names. Do you happen to know which ones they were from this list? I'm particularly interested in the Xbox font to see what's in it. How did you view them to begin with? I'll be posting pictures of the debug menu and try and scrape text as well.

Combat Cars

Hi,

I noticed that you made that page (and almost by yourself), so was wondering if you know anything about its apparent prototype? Information on it is somewhat scarce. Thanks. AdamP (talk) 20:34, 25 April 2018 (EDT)

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories (PlayStation 2)

I fixed the formatting (by adding spaces so that negative numbers wouldn't be misinterpreted as new table rows), but it looks like there's a column name missing near the right end of your table and I don't know what it might be. —Daxeria (talk) 15:14, 1 September 2018 (EDT)

Golf Ou

Hi, great job on the article while I was away!

However all the intros should be in all the games (or at least in the Japanese one), keep resetting as they are random :)

Good catch, totally missed that. --TheBluegeek (talk) 21:27, 13 September 2020 (UTC)

SwSh item icons

Hello, just wanted to let you know that I kept the light blue background for the item icons to highlight the new white border around the unused icons. I saw that you are beginning to split the sheet and you also removed the background color. SunakazeKun (talk) 00:00, 26 October 2020 (UTC)

Spiritual Warfare

Can you make a code that instantly sends the player to room $D9? --From: CounterDiving (talk) 14:00, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

Merging the GTA Definitive Trilogy into one page

I think we should do that, so that it would be easier to compare the differences and list them, since compilation games with remasters are usually put together in one page. SodaDog (talk) 17:53, 13 November 2021 (UTC)

I think it's better as separate pages given the size of each game and the fact that even though it's only sold as a bundle it's still delivered as three separate apps. TheBluegeek (talk) 03:19, 14 November 2021 (UTC)

Re: NES Palette

I changed my emulator settings to upload a newer version of the image used for the casino in Deja Vu (the April 28, 1990 prototype.) I had some problems with reloading the page, so you may notice that the file was changed several times before I was able to see results. the second version of the file was still noticeably too bright, and I wanted to show a screenshot showing the cigarette item in the inventory 00Evan (talk) 5:23, 29 August 2022 (UTC)

Muppet Monster Adventure Files

Hello, I was attempting to access and investigate some of the contents of Muppet Monster Adventure and found it was quite well documented here after hitting the wall of what appears to be compressed archives or sections containing most of the file contents. I'm fairly novice in accessing content from PS1 titles and was wondering how you accessed things like the dialogue audio? I experimented and searched up some more relevant methods and tools but none seemed to work, so I would really appreciate the help if you're willing. --Darkspyre (talk) 06:22, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
