This page details one or more prototype versions of Street Fighter IV.

A trial demo, and a prototype of Street Fighter IV were released on September 22, 2008 and November 21, 2008 for the Xbox 360. They were both found and dumped by Hidden Palace on December 25, 2022, as the former was compiled 3 months before the final retail build, and the latter was compiled a month before the final game's release. There's some minor differences compared to the final product.

Debugging Info and Debug Menu

There's some build information seen as you boot up the trial demo, and debugging info will appear on the screen at the top-right before the Capcom logo appears. Hold LB+RB upon startup to enter a debug menu that lets you load the game. If you don't do this, the game will freeze at the Capcom logo.

Title Screen

The September 22, 2008 demo has "TRIAL" next to the logo on the title screen, the copyright year only has 2008, there's a registered trademark symbol instead of an normal trademark symbol on the logo, and there is no "Online Interactions Not Rated by the ESRB" text.

Main Menu

On the November 21, 2008 prototype, the player rank information on the Main Menu was absent.

Character Select

The Character Select screen in the September 22, 2008 demo is missing all of the unlockable characters and the Random selection icon.

In-Game Differences

There is no music, SFX, or voices playing in the September 22, 2008 demo for some reason.

The layout of the HUD in the September 22, 2008 demo is identical to the HUD layout in the original arcade version of the game. The layout was adjusted slightly for the final retail version.
