Cheeseslime
The most common enemy has some unused animations, all leftover from 2018-era builds. The turning and falling animations even then went unused as the turning felt slow, and Cheeseslimes don't fall off ledges. The bounce and bounce recovery animations are leftovers from when they could be used like springs, and originally, the Cheeseslime's death animation was animated, similar to the Peppino Clones in the final game.
Weenie
"60 hours a week guarding some run-down tower and I don't even gets paid vacation? Howsabout we take this out back an discuss it?"

Bomb Goblin
"Urban legends tells of goblins that would hide in a pizza box and put bombs inside of them."
Idle Animations
Farmer Idles
Unused idling animations for the Eggplantmobile and the Peasanto, leftover from their initial concept of being recruitable in the scrapped Mansion level, and using their abilities to the player's advantage.
Various Enemy Idles
Various idle animations. These are for the Cool Pineapple, Swedish Monkey, and the Forknight, with the Swedish Monkey being the only enemy with a still image for an idle sprite.
Stun Animations
Old Enemy Stuns
Older stun animations for Cool Pineapple, Forknight, and Pepperoni Goblin these were present in the Early Test Build. These animations would flash when hit twice but were later replaced with non-flashing versions in subsequent demos.
Placeholder Electric Potato
This was a simple placeholder graphic from both the Eggplant and September 2021 Rework builds meant for the electric potatoes in Fun Farm.
Neutral Piraneapple
A piraneapple being neutral and calm, as seen in earlier builds were it would swim around in water and wait to attack the player.
Pineacool Parrying
Originally the Pineacool enemies would taunt to the beat of a level's music, similar to the enemies in the New Super Mario Bros. games, though this was scrapped. Pineacools still taunt when the player taunts near them, though this feature being removed disallowed them the ability to potentially parry the player.
Big Cheese Death Sprite
The Big Cheeses weren't always invincible, evidently. In early builds such as the Golf demo, these enemies could be KO'd, with this sprite being used upon defeat.
Mr. Pinch Body Parts
Mr. Pinch was originally going to have a full body rather than lie in a pipe. Oddly enough, the legs are the only animated body parts. This was scrapped for the final game.
UFOlive
The grounded versions of the UFOlives have unused fall and landing sprites. Seeing as how they are usually in spaces where they walk from side to side and can’t jump, it’s obvious as to why this was scrapped and not used.
Scared Bandito Chicken
The Bandito Chicken originally had a scared animation for when the player went at Mach 3 speeds, however this animation was removed from the chicken's code, hence why it still runs around even when the players dashes around.
Old Bandito Chicken Projectile
An old version of the Bandito Chicken's projectile. It has no fuse, and is a generic bone design.
Peppino Totem
A scrapped sprite of a totem from Oregano Desert with Peppino's face on it, which could have been used after Peppino reactivates the totem.
John Ghost with Less Frames
In pre-release builds of the game, the John Ghost was animated with less frames compared to the final game.
Peppibot Knife Attack
Peppibots used to spit out knives from their mouths as a form of attack. While the knife in question gets reused for the shrimp thugs, the attack sprite goes unused.
Noisey Jumping
When the Noiseys were re-occurring enemies, rather than a boss hazard, they had 2 phases; Their 1st being the normal walking one, and then the 2nd one where they bounce around on a spring. Likely scrapped for it being deemed too hard to attack them in this state, especially on the front.
Toppin Monsters
Robot Mushroom and Cheese Monster Walking
There are walking animations for the Mushroom and Cheese Monsters. In early versions of the Don't Make A Sound level, the Toppin Monsters would roam freely and would chase when the player was in their view, instead of only being active when the alarms go off.
Robot Mushroom Intro
When the Mushroom Monster could still roam around, this animation would play when the player gets caught in its line of sight. This animation was re-used in the latter half of the Mushroom Monster's activation animation, but the original isolated animation is still left over.
Tomato Puppet Landing
An unused animation of the Tomato Puppet landing.
Butcher Sausage Idle
The butcher sausage's idle animation. It doesn't animate and only has one frame of animation. This was used in the Eggplant Build when it's continue moving towards the player.
Pineapple Toppin summoning the Pineapple Toppin Monster
Within early versions, the Pineapple Toppin Monster would be summoned when this Toppin smiled. Only one of the smiling frames gets used in the final game, as one of its taunts.
Pineapple Toppin Monster Jumpscare
This was used in the Eggplant Build when you got jumpscared by an animatronic summoned by the pineapple monster.
3D Toppin Monster Jumpscares
(Note: Due to technical limitations, some GIFs shown here won't animate.)
A concept for the Toppin Monster jumpscares, where they would be 3D pre-rendered models, with these models being created by a user named Orca. However, this idea was scrapped because McPig wanted the jumpscares to fit the game's artstyle, as the 3D models clashed with the 2D animations.
Stupid Rat Variants
Old variants of the Stupid Rats, wearing an assortment of hats (plus roasting a marshmellow, too!).
Fake Peppino
Fake Peppino has 4 unused animations, the first 2 being leftovers from when he was originally going to be an enemy. Oddly, despite being recolored to support Peppino's alternate palettes, the landing sprite isn't used when Fake Peppino lands on the ground during his boss fight. On the other hand, the wall super jump wasn't recolored like the rest of the sprites used during the fight, showing that the move was scrapped before he was given support for multiple palettes.
Old Designs
Ninja Slice
Introduced in the March 2019 build, the Ninja Slice originally had more detailed and more shaded sprites and carried pizza cutters in their hands, similar to the Tribe Cheeses of the Western build.
Tribe Cheese
As mentioned above, Tribe Cheeses used to carry pizza cutters in their design, as seen in the Western Build. This allowed them to hurt the player by walking into them, with their tomahawk attack being their heat attack instead. The pizza cutters were removed along with their ability to hurt the player without tomahawks in the Eggplant Build, when their heat attack was changed to be their main one instead.
Noisey
Pre-Xmas Break builds | Xmas Break-2021 builds |
---|---|
Noiseys had 2 older designs, one created back when the Noise had a different design with a pizza on his chest and hat, and one where said pizza design is removed. These two designs were scrapped in the April 2021 build.
Pillar John
Some old sprites for Pillar John. Since some sprites were never reused after his redesign, they've remained in the game's files using his earlier design.
Leftovers
spr_hungrypillar_mouth
Pillar John opening his mouth to be fed Toppins, a scrapped mechanic that was last used for Demo 2.
Scrapped Sprites
Pizzaface
Pizzaface's old design that was used from his introduction in the Boss build up until the Eggplant build.
Fake Peppino
Old Designs of Fake Peppino's Limbs
As mentioned here, Fake Peppino had limbs that would reach out and attack the player, and these are old leftover placeholder sprites of said limbs.
Fake Peppino's Original Portrait
Can be seen in the Octobe22 build. Like Peppino's boss sprite, the shading on his clothes were removed.
Peppino Clones
In the Eggplant build, Peppino Clones had cheese colored mouths, like Fake Peppino in Pre-Eggplant builds such as the April Fool's GOLF build. This simple aesthetic was changed right before the game released.
