Lemmings & Oh No! More Lemmings is a fairly rough Game Boy Color port of the first Lemmings game and its expansion pack, featuring an entirely original (worse) soundtrack which would inexplicably go on to be used in a string of bootleg platform games by the unlicensed developer Sintax.

This was also the last time the series would appear on a Nintendo console, being released shortly before Psygnosis was absorbed into Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.

Development Tool Text

Hmmm...
To do:
The text for the error handler as seen in Animal Breeder 3 is here too.

This game contains similar text to Animal Breeder 3 (from the same developer), left over from some kind of development tool.

Regional Differences

VS Mode

The Japanese version features a VS Mode, where players compete via link cable to be the first to complete a level, but for some reason the option was removed from the US release.

Japan US
Japanese lemmings are competitive. American lemmings don't care.

However, the mode is still present, still fully functional, and was even (sort of) translated to English!

Well these all seem like coherent and useful options so I guess I'll just pick all of them. Okay so after careful deliberation i have decided your new initials can be B.U.T.T. I've been looking for a communication companion my whole life. ;_; Advice not just for Lemmings, but for life. It... it communicates! IT'S ALIVE!

You can access it in the US version using the GameShark/Action Replay code 0101D3C8 (which will force VS Mode selection on the title screen).

Menu

The level selection menu was already in English in the Japanese version, but had a spelling mistake which was corrected. The unusual "r" in "Normal Game" was also modified to something a bit more standard-looking.

Japan US
Oh! Noh! Oh! Yeah!

Header

The Japanese internal cart header gives the game's name as VS.REMMINGS. This was fixed in the US version.

Level Names

The Japanese version has a number of typos in level names, which were mostly fixed for the US version:

Japan US
DON'T DO ANYTHING TO O HASTY DON'T DO ANYTHING TOO HASTY
LEMMINGS LEMMING EVERYWHERE LEMMINGS LEMMINGS EVERYWHERE
NIGHITMARE ON LEM STREET NIGHTMARE ON LEM STREET
LE'T BE CAREFUL OUT THERE LET'S BE CAREFUL OUT THERE
HERE'S ONE I PREPARED EAELIER HERE'S ONE I PREPARED EARLIER
I HAVE A CUNNING I HAVE A CUNNING PLAN
FEEL THE HERT! FEEL THE HEAT!
THE FOR SIDE THE FAR SIDE
JUST A MINUTE (PRAT TWO) JUST A MINUTE (PART TWO)
JUSTY WINTSY... LEMMING INTSY WINTSY... LEMMING
JUST A QUICKLY JUST A QUICKY

One that was toned down:

Japanese US
SUICIDAL TENDENCIES LEMMING TENDENCIES

A couple which featured typos in the Japanese version but were changed outright in the US one, possibly due to their reliance on a British reference (the sitcom Only Fools and Horses) and a Coca-Cola trademark (the juice drink 5 Alive) respectively:

Original Amiga Japanese GBC US GBC
Luvly Jubly LUVLY JIBLY LOVELY LEM
Five Alive FAVE ALIVE ALL ALIVE

And one named in romanized Japanese in the original, misspelled in romanized Japanese by the Japanese developers of the GBC port, then "helpfully" translated back into English by the US localizers:

Original Amiga Japanese GBC US GBC
Konbanwa Lemming san KONBABWA LEMMING SAN Hello, Mr. Lemming!
