Prototype Info

Unused Graphics

Renders of all the characters from the first game, most likely either used as placeholders, or simply leftovers. The same images are present in the original game.

Early versions of the store graphics, the game uses thinner, cleaner versions of these.

A single placeholder graphic.

Drums Strings

Unused strings found in the locale.dtb file indicate that drums were originally planned to be playable in Guitar Hero II!

(green "normal")
(kick2 "2 lane")
(kick3 "3 lane")
(kick4 "4 lane")
(kicklong "long")
(kicklongnotch "long w/ notches")
(red "normal")
(snare_red "snare drum")
(snare_red3 "3 lane")
(yellow "normal")
(cymbal_yellow "cymbal")
(tom_yellow "tom")
(misc_yellow "misc")
(blue "normal")
(cymbal_blue "cymbal")
(tom_blue "tom")
(misc_blue "misc")
(orange "normal")
(cymbal_orange "cymbal")
(tom_orange "tom")
(misc_orange "misc")

Interestingly, there's a clear distinction between tom notes and cymbal notes, suggesting that an early form of pro drums was planned as well.

Unused models for drum gems can be found in a prototype build of the game.
