Revisional Differences

For the US version, Sony originally published the game and later re-released it on Greatest Hits. In 2002, alongside A Bug's Life, Take 2 obtained the rights and re-released it with some changes.

The "SCEA Presents" screen was replaced with the Take 2 Interactive logo.

The Level Select cheat is enabled by default in this re-release. However, the menu's text is replaced with the sprites for the coins.

It should be noted that this version was reissued under a new serial number. As a result, neither version's save data is compatible with each other.

Regional Differences

Like A Bug's Life for PlayStation, Tarzan was published by Konami in Japan, and has some differences.

  • A health warning appears at startup before the Konami logo.
  • A fourth menu option was added to the title screen, which displays information about the characters.
  • Though the code for the Debug Menu can be entered and accepted (the sound will still play), the menu cannot be accessed at all during gameplay. The Level Select code and menu still function as intended.
