Yo-kai Watch 1 for Nintendo Switch is an enhanced port of the original 3DS game, with several adjustments and improvements such as online battling, more Crank-a-kai chances, upscaled and washed out graphics, and other stuff... but has downsides such as Crank-a-kai autosaving, using real-life overpriced Yo-kai Keystones to get otherwise unobtainable Yo-kai, and the removal of the Yo-kai Cam. Overall, it's regarded as either superior or inferior to the original game, depending on who you ask.

This version would be the basis of the mobile port.

Hmmm...
To do:
Cover
  • Unused maps
    • Leftover unused maps from the 3ds version including the strangely finished Toyz iz We location.
    • A total of 10 debug maps that need proper testing due to graphical problems
  • A ton of 3DS leftovers
    • Yo-kai Cam Leftovers; text, graphics and sounds for summoning songs.
    • Redesigned Legendary Yo-kai Medal Frames of Tribes that don't exist until YW2
    • Unused "Info" menu with HD assets

Aye...?

Debug Textures

Unlike the original game, this version has a debug folder full of leftovers, prototype screenshots, and... developer faces?

Images of the Yo-kai Medallium mockup.

  • The first image lists a near-final Medallium Biography for the Yo-kai, except with placeholder text. Jibanyan is also listed as 002.
  • The second image appears to be an earlier Yo-kai Medallium pages summoning using (from clockwise) Pandle, D'wanna, Dulluma, Blizzaria, Rollen, Ake, Peckpocket, and Noko. It seems to match up with Shogunyan's Medallium pages in the final.
  • The third image appears to match that of the WHF Winter 2013 build of the game, as the maps match.

A couple of unseen images.

  • The first image of a boss battle against Slimamander. The models for Jibanyan, Walkappa, and Tattletell appear to be in a very early state, hence why they were redesigned from their initial revelation. The Boss Yo-kai health is also horizonal rather than vertical and the fight took place on a clear day rather than a stormy day.
  • The second image appears to be in a mockup state rather than an unseen image due to exactly matching the same pose as seen in an earlier image. Strangely, Whisper is also marked as a playable Yo-kai with the Slippery Tribe (hence the Tribe Boost with Noko).

What seem to be images of an early results screen, done in four different variants.
