Wall Street Kid is a business simulation game. Your distant uncle has left you a $600 billion inheritance, but you can only claim it if you can turn a small loan of $500,000 into a fortune on the stock market without your girlfriend leaving you.

The game is often referred to as a localization of the Famicom title The Money Game II: Kabutochou no Kiseki. However, virtually everything was changed - the story and characters were completely replaced, all art and music was entirely redone, the menus were redesigned, and the core gameplay was reworked and simplified - stretching the idea of a "localization" pretty thin.

Debug Passwords

The game has a few debugging options by entering specific passwords in the Saved Game menu.

  • MUSIC - starts a Sound Test, where you can cycle through all of the game's music tracks with A.
  • SCREE N - opens a Graphics Test, letting you cycle through some of the game's backgrounds.
  • ICHIF UJINI TAKAS ANNAS UBI - starts the ending cutscene. "Ichi Fuji, ni taka, san nasubi" (one Fuji, two hawk, three eggplant) is an adage for the three best things to dream about in the first dream of the year, a Japanese tradition known as "hatsuyume".
