Weiners Don't Use Drugs

Hello, I would just to let you know that I have removed the todo for Weiners Don't Use Drugs you added on the Pizza Tower prototype page. I have however, gotten a start to a page for the game on my sandbox, so if you want to help, go there. --Mantis (talk) 02:22, 18 April 2024 (UTC)

Zone 0D garbage data

Hi. What I was referring to by "no need to elaborate on garbage data" is that the glitchy effects caused by Zone 0D when attempting to play it as a normal level are, uh, the result of the game reading garbage data, which isn't really documentable on the wiki (kind of like World 9 and above in Super Mario Bros).
In the final game, Zone 0D is actually used, but it has a special purpose and was never intended to be accessed as an actual level -- and the game breaks if done so. The main Sonic 3 page does document the glitchy effects, which is a mistake that hasn't been fixed yet.

Granted, in the prototype, Zone 0D is fully unused, but that's documented on the proto page already ("This special case isn't yet implemented, so both acts of the zone are still using the default placeholders."), though perhaps it could be elaborated on. --Kak64 (talk) 23:25, 18 April 2024 (UTC)

Ok, I get your point, but Zone 0D (specifically Act 2) was used in S3&K/S&K. Act 1 was not used, except for being used as a dummy slot when skipping the AIZ1 cutscene. If the glitchy effects are removed from the (Sonic 3 / S&K leftovers page) then what about the other zones? The weird graphics could be said as "game reading garbage data because the needed graphics don't exist". User:SONIC123CDMANIA+&K(B&ATSA) 17:26, April 19, 2024 (CST)
Documenting Zone 0D Act 2 would be like documenting that S3&K has a new ending over S3. In S3, Zone 0D Act 2 is not particularly notable since, as far as how the game is concerned, it's a generic empty slot using placeholder AIZ2 data, identical to other empty Act 2s.
As for the other zones, the glitchy effects shouldn't be mentioned either. How the prototype page handles the S&K zones is more or less applicable to the respective page for the final game, so that only explicitly defined behaviour is documented and details are grouped (ie: "The remainder of the main Sonic & Knuckles zones all use placeholder data from Angel Island Zone").
While the glitchy effects are a no-go, it would be useful to mention the various reasons the game crashes when accessing the unused zones. The S3Unlocked Blog documented why that happens a while ago for both removed levels like Flying Battery and for levels using placeholder AIZ data like Sandopolis. The former ties into details like why MVZ loads Azure Lake data, which should be mentioned as well. --Kak64 (talk) 02:07, 20 April 2024 (UTC)
All I'm getting is that we shouldn't cover the unused zones because of all the glitchiness. "the glitchy effects shouldn't be mentioned either" basically means "don't cover these zones, because glitches from unused stuff shouldn't be covered." SERIOUSLY!? Wouldn't that mean trimming a lot of game pages, not just S3 or S3 1103, because of this? User:SONIC123CDMANIA+&K(B&ATSA) 14:21, April 20, 2024 (CST)
I didn't say that the unused zones shouldn't be covered, just that describing the glitches and their effects as if they were an actual intended change shouldn't, and that info on the placeholder level slots using AIZ data could be grouped (like the prototype page does). There's still quite a bit of unused data for those levels that doesn't involve glitches, like the leftover object layouts, palettes and code. --Kak64 (talk) 20:21, 20 April 2024 (UTC)
True, but TCRF doesn't say that we can't cover it. I'm not saying we should do the describing as if they were intended changes, I'm saying we should describe them as "Oh, these zones aren't used, here's what happens when trying to access them, here's what happens because of that, etc." We would still be covering the unused data that doesn't involve glitches. 3D Loop

What do you mean, "the 3D loop is a full loop, which isn't the case in the final game"? Have you seen footage of Sonic CD lately? The first 3D loop in Palmtree Panic is a full loop. You see the sky, then some upside-down mountains, then the lake, then rightside-up mountains, and then the loop ends. It doesn't look any different in the magazine screenshots. --Murnjendoof (talk) 02:16, 19 April 2024 (UTC)

No, I 100% remember the 1st 3D loop being a quarter loop. You run up, it ends, and you go up and right. User:SONIC123CDMANIA+&K(B&ATSA) 10:21, April 19, 2024 (CST)
Let this be a lesson to always double-check your memories. I'll be reverting your edit while you watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQwZFLwjeUw --Murnjendoof (talk) 23:17, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/12s-Y2FJhlhz9sN7b4ODaRam1gipf4lzo Oh really? I beg to differ. User:SONIC123CDMANIA+&K(B&ATSA) 18:23, April 19, 2024 (CST)
Golly, a link to a Google Drive that I don't have permission to access. You really showed me. Why the hell are you not accepting actual footage of the game as evidence?? I'm going to get the moderators involved if this continues. --Murnjendoof (talk) 23:33, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
0_o. Hold on. Now try. User:SONIC123CDMANIA+&K(B&ATSA) 18:35, April 19, 2024 (CST)
You're a moron. How about you actually watch the video I sent, before you embarrass yourself even more? --Murnjendoof (talk) 23:37, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
Why am I a moron? Also, youtube's blocked for me on the device I'm on. User:SONIC123CDMANIA+&K(B&ATSA) 18:38, April 19, 2024 (CST)
Well, here's one reason why you're a moron: you disregarded my evidence without viewing it first. Use a different device. I don't care if it'll take you a while before you can access a different device, just watch the goddamn video and don't make any more braindead edits until you've seen it. I'm sick of this argument that we shouldn't even be having in the first place. --Murnjendoof (talk) 23:42, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
Well, you didn't look at the file I had in the folder. User:SONIC123CDMANIA+&K(B&ATSA) 18:46, April 19, 2024 (CST)
YES I FUCKING DID! I'm tired of this. I'm getting the moderators involved. --Murnjendoof (talk) 23:50, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
From Zone0 (where I got the image): "Notice that the background goes upside down, to simulate Sonic running upside down in the loop himself, but really, it's just a long path going straight upward." The preceding unsigned comment was added by SONIC123CDMANIA+&K(B&ATSA) (talk • contribs)
You're on the cusp of understanding. You're so close to getting it. I have one final question for you: how is that any different from the prototype? You've described how the loop behaves in the final game, and the screenshots in the magazine show the exact same thing. Also note that the moderators have reverted your edit. --Murnjendoof (talk) 01:43, 20 April 2024 (UTC)
The magazine makes it look like it's a full loop, which it isn't. The preceding unsigned comment was added by SONIC123CDMANIA+&K(B&ATSA) (talk • contribs)
I'm not going to respond to any more of your messages until you watch that goddamn video. Your lack of comprehension is jaw-dropping. --Murnjendoof (talk) 01:51, 20 April 2024 (UTC)
I DID OK!? I WOULDN'T'VE RESPONDED IF I DIDN'T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The preceding unsigned comment was added by SONIC123CDMANIA+&K(B&ATSA) (talk • contribs)
I'm fed up with this. The fact of the matter (a fact with which the moderators agree) is that the magazine screenshots of the 3D loop show absolutely zero differences from the final game. I'm not going to respond to any more messages here. And please remember to sign your comments. --Murnjendoof (talk) 22:00, 20 April 2024 (UTC)
Well, I'm fed up with you. The magazine CLEARLY shows a full loop, which isn't the case in the game itself. Just block yourself if you don't want to be here. User:SONIC123CDMANIA+&K(B&ATSA) 07:23, April 22, 2024 (CST)
Good for nothing. Electronic gaming monthly 050 - 1993 sep -160 difference3.jpg"The 3D loop here seems to be a full loop, which isn't the case in the final game." It is a full loop, but this mechanic started being programmed at the time of v0.2 when there are unused "rolling" sprites created for the loop. Hello old friend!!

This is FanOfRosalina2007 from MarioWiki! I'm glad to hear that you made a TCRF account, and I hope you have fun here as I have so far! -- FanOfRosalina2007 (talk) 02:29, 24 April 2024 (UTC)

:-). I'm having fun! besides a few oofs you can see from the other topics on this talk page, but that's a whole other thingYou can look at my userpage & its subpages if you want! And an easier way for signing is 4 ~s. I was told that, so I've started doing that here. EDIT: Oh, I forgot if you want to add anything in the subpages of my userpage, go ahead! As long as it relates to the subpage's contents. -- SONIC123CDMANIA+&K(B&ATSA) (talk) 12:23, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
I do sign with four tildes (~~~~), but it just automatically puts in the userpage and talk page text once you hit "Save Changes". And don't worry, I've goofed up a lot here too! I might check out your userpage subpages in a bit. Thanks! -- FanOfRosalina2007 (talk) 16:56, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
:-). Great! You're welcome! -- SONIC123CDMANIA+&K(B&ATSA) (talk) 17:01, 24 April 2024 (UTC) P.S. That doesn't happen for me.
Also, I checked out your subpages. Very impressive! I could never figure out stuff like that. Feel free to check out my userpage, too! I have a couple of somewhat-useless sandboxes that you could help out with! -- FanOfRosalina2007 (talk) 20:02, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
Very good! Hey, you can edit my subpages if you want! It just has to relate to the contents of the subpages. It could be comments, edits to the text, etc. -- SONIC123CDMANIA+&K(B&ATSA) (talk) 20:41, 24 April 2024 (UTC)

Blocked for one day

Do not engage in edit wars with other users. I've gotten a handful of complaints about this and I'm just going to make the next block permanent if this behavior keeps up. --Rachel Mae (talk) 23:22, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
