Template Stuff
I had let one of the other french translators know this as well earlier: The date template used in the bob has been marked for translation, so that you can call it inside the bob like you call the french version of the bob and other templates, with {{date/fr}}. It's also asked that you please translate the names of the months used inside the bob (as that's what is actually displayed to the screen), to make the translation of the Bob more complete. I also wanted to quickly mention, a lot of templates (which you can identify with the {} brackets around them) should either already have translated variants (that show the extra text, like the to-do text at the top of {{todo}} as an example) should have translated versions, or are marked in a way they can be translated. If you run into a template, and it's not a game series template (most of those aren't marked), try running search for the name in the TCRF search bar, and then selecting "Advanced" and then checking the "Templates" box, which should let you find the page for the template. If it's not marked, like usual, ask it to be marked (if it actually needs it, of course), but I would expect most templates you would encounter (like {{source}}, {{date}}, {{todo}}, etc) to already be marked and just need a french translation. Then they can be called by using the name of the template in the brackets, then "/[language code]", which is fr in the case of french. Let me know if any of this is confusing and I'll do my best to clear it up. -- Luna (talk) 23:54, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
- Alright, thanks for the tips! I had already tried the located templates and it seemed to work for all those I've tried so far, but I absolutely didn't know there was a way to fix the dates inside the bob! When I first tried the French version of the bob and checked the result, I thought "it's great that we can give access to the bob in French, it seems to work for almost every line, but it's a bit of a shame they couldn't manage to adapt the date system apparently, it's probably too complicated to program for all I know...". Glad to know I was wrong and that there IS a way! --Cold Skin (talk) 12:58, 1 March 2022 (UTC)
