An arcade port of the PaRappa the Rapper spin-off game Um Jammer Lammy, and one of Namco's four arcade guitar games published at the height of the rhythm game craze.

It is notorious for being extremely rare; while the game was seemingly put into mass production, the only working cabinet known to exist (owned by none other than British celebrity Jonathan Ross) would not be fully dumped until September 2023.

Seemingly unused variations for the Easy and Normal course graphics. The final graphics depict Chop Chop Master Onion and Chief Puddle on Easy, and Chief Puddle and Captain Fussenpepper on Normal; the unused Easy variations replace Chief Puddle with Cathy Piller & Baby and Captain Fussenpepper, respectively, while the Normal variations replace either Chief Puddle or Captain Fussenpepper with Cathy Piller & Baby.

Mama PaRappa has backside textures which aren't normally seen in-game.

An unused mouth texture for Mama PaRappa.

The Joe and Chin Switch button input graphics in the style of the L and R buttons from PaRappa the Rapper.

Um Jammer Lammy Leftovers

In addition to almost everything that was already unused in the original game, the only exception being the "XA Player" graphic, several that originally were in the PlayStation version no longer are here.

Shuriken notes, which are leftovers from a special setting in Um Jammer Lammy in which pressing any notes count as a valid press, being essentially an "easy mode". However, this setting doesn't appear here.

The many effectors' associated graphics from the original Um Jammer Lammy, which go unused as they are normally not accessible here.

Leftovers from the options menu.

FDGT.TMD is an unfinished pink guitar model with a yellow fretboard.

Unused Sounds

Chief Puddle Co-op (with Rammy) Fail

Due to an oversight, failing Chief Puddle's stage as Lammy and Rammy plays the audio file for failing the stage as Lammy and PaRappa instead; this error is also reflected in the operator menu's sound test. Despite this, the intended file can be found in the first sound ROM (ul1wave0.ic1), starting from offset 0x2627D4.

Joe Chin Crash

An alternate version of Joe Chin's fanfare, which is interrupted by a crash and glass break sounds, which could have been used in the screen transition where Joe's car rams the screen, as seen when starting the Easy Course, viewing the post-game replay, and during the attract sequence. It can be found starting from offset 0x7B2682 of the second sound ROM (ul1wave1.ic1), and can be played in the operator menu's sound test, as SE 1919.

Unused Joe Chin Voicelines

These can be found within the game's disc data, inside the folder XA, rather than the sound ROMs.

Player 2 Join

A Joe Chin line exists for a second player joining mid-game, though when this occurs, this sound doesn't play. It can be found as the sixth audio file within JOE2.XA.

Cut-Off Tutorial Line

Though this file isn't unused, the second half of this line ("Follow instructions for once, will ya?!") isn't heard when the player misinputs during the Guitar'n'table tutorial due to being cut off by Joe Chin saying "You're supposed to be having fun! Smile! Laugh! Enjoy!". However, it is possible for the subtitles for this section of the line to briefly appear. It can be found as the last audio file within JOE6.XA.

Unused Music

S1\ST1.XA on the game's disc, which contains the music tracks for Stage 1, has two tracks with unheard beginning sections:

  • The sixth audio track contains the dialogue heard when finishing this stage on Co-op mode with PaRappa with the COOL rating, though its beginning consists of the audio of the Joe Chin intermission cutscene seen in the original Um Jammer Lammy when starting Stage 5 as PaRappa.
  • The eighth audio track contains the dialogue heard when finishing the stage on Co-op mode with PaRappa with the GOOD rating, though its beginning section consists of an excerpt of Keep Your Head Up!!, the ending theme from the American and European versions of the original Um Jammer Lammy, which fades out when the used section approaches.
