This cactus is UNDER CONSTRUCTION
This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.
Cactus 2.0!
This article has just been started and needs the article basics added.
Help us out and add them.
Careful, you'll lose an eye.
This page or section needs more images.
There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this.
Hmmm...
To do:
  • A good start for Unused content. Be sure to give proper sourcing credit!
  • Look through the game's code. All information here currently is sourced externally from the game's files.

The Elder Scrolls Travels: Shadowkey is the first (and only) Elder Scrolls game on the Nokia N-Gage. The taco-phone, marketed for its spontaneous and short bursts of "on-the-go" gameplay, naturally led Shadowkey to become the second Elder Scrolls title to feature a multiplayer mode, after Battlespire had done so 7 years prior. The game takes place in the Western Reach of the borderlands between Hammerfell, High Rock, and Skyrim. It follows an evolving narrative that begins simply enough with the ransacking of the player's home village, before unfolding into a conflict between the player, mysterious forces, and mages versed in the highly obscure and powerful art of Shadow Magic.

Unused Areas

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Add a screenshot of the map, and describe its contents.

In the game's files is a level named "menu." This unused map was likely intended to be used as a demo on Shadowkey's main menu.

Unused Enemies

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Add more unused enemies.

Spikeworm

Elementary, my dear Cactus.
This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: Where in the game's code can you find references to the Spikeworm?

In the data for the game are references to a cut enemy referred to as a Spikeworm. In addition to the regular variety of Spikeworm, there are also references to a "Nubbed Spikeworm" and a "Horrid Spikeworm." It should be noted that the Wormmouth enemy, which does appear in the final game, shares a curiously similar vermiform naming structure to the Spikeworm, even using the same adjectives for the two alternative varieties: "Wormmouth", "Nubbed Wormmouth", and "Horrid Wormmouth." Whether or not the Spikeworm was an early name for the Wormmouth or different variety of monster entirely is currently unknown.

Unused Graphics

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Add images of the unused textures
  • Showcase all unused graphics and explain them.

Many of the unused enemies and NPCs have textures which are unused in the final game. Noticeably, an entire texture for male and female Khajiit are unused, alongside variations of other creatures textures.

Unused Models

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Add images of the unused models
  • Showcase all unused models and explain them.

In addition to the Khajiit textures, the Khajiit NPCs were to also have digitigrade legs and a tail. Neither of these anatomical features are referenced in the game or affect gameplay while playing a Khajiit.

Unused Items

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Add the weapon icon(s).
  • Add a more descriptive examination of the items.

In the game's files are references to a cut shortblade and dagger. They are the Shard of Vehemence and Neb's Talon respectively.
