Shining Force III was the first installment of a highly-ambitious trilogy. Unfortunately, Part 1 was also Sega of America's final Saturn game and the next-to-last Saturn game to come out in America overall, with Magic Knight Rayearth being released 4 months later.
Pictured here is an unused level, dubbed "魔天要塞" (literally Demon/Heaven Fortress) on the official website. This map is a leftover from very early in development. It can be briefly seen in the Premium Disc, under "Promotional Video".
