Hmmm...
To do:
Make a Prerelease page with the screenshots from an archive of MicroProse's website. They feature things that don't appear in the final game.
This cactus is UNDER CONSTRUCTION
This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.

A movie adaptation that came out three years late.

Unused Graphics

Unused Object Images

On away missions, objects of interest appear at the bottom of the screen for interaction. Some objects had graphics made for that purpose, but went unused.

Combadges

Combadges cannot be dropped, but they nevertheless have a graphic for them.

Early Phaser

An early version of the phaser as seen from the player's perspective.

Unused Borders

Apparently, the small window borders were to be unique to each away mission, but that was scrapped and supplanted by a single LCARS border. Not all levels have an associated unused border, though.

Developer Photos

Hidden in COMBAT.DAT are photographs of the developers and, presumably, their families.

There's also a bunch of unused ship textures, probably leftovers from Star Trek TNG: A Final Unity. Will get to those later.

Sisko?

Graphics for a male Admiral who looks kind of like Ben Sisko from Deep Space Nine.

Q?

Opening up 015.gs2 inside verid1.dat reveals an unused sprite who looks vaguely like Q, but with a different color scheme and a beard.

Alternate Alternate Ending

If, in the final mission aboard the Enterprise, you manage to kill Soran but die before you get to the escape pod, you would get a message like this:

For whatever reason, this was replaced with a standard text crawl and a different version of the Game Over music.
