Sid Meier's Civilization III
Civilization III |
---|
Developers: Firaxis Games,
Westlake Interactive (Mac) This game has unused playable characters. |
After conquering the world a second time, you once again become nomadic and need to overcome all rival civilizations.
Civilization III is a turn-based strategy game that received two expansions: Conquests and Play the World, which were bundled with the game when it was republished as Civilization III Complete.
Unused Video
There is a 10-second video in the movies folder, namely a security briefing from one of the advisors, commenting about the fortress being impenetrable.
This is related to the advisors found in Civilization II, who also use miniature videos to give the player their opinion. With that unimplemented, the video was left as an Easter egg and entertainment for those digging into the files, with remaining advisors being relegated to a fixed image with their message written in text.
Unused Civilization
In the Conquests expansion, text and art files for the Austrian civilization remain. It's fully playable, but due to the game's hard-coded limit of 31 civilizations (not including the non-playable Barbarians), it is only accessible by replacing an existing civilization's files with those of Austria.
