Hmmm...
To do:
  • Replace video with audio rips, as well as filenames.
  • There may be other items referenced in the audio which aren't in the game.
  • There is a September 2001 build of the game on Hidden Palace. Document it.

Robot Wars: Arenas of Destruction is the first official Robot Wars console video game based on the British robot combat game show of the same name. It adopts elements mostly from Series 4.

LET THE WARS BEGIN!

Unused Audio

This video showcases TONS of unused audio commentary from play by play commentator of the show Jonathan Pearce. It reveals there were multiple game modes such as the Gauntlet, Pinball and Tag Team Terror from the show were planned to be in the game but only commentary remains for them. There is also a mention of a "teddy bear challenge" but it is unknown what it entails. It also reveals that there were multiple custom robots planned to be purchasable from the Robot Workshop menu and playable such as Pencil of Death, Silver Bullet, TechnoMasher, Torcher Chamber, Trouble Shooter, Roadblock and Robot Ali but again only commentary remains for them.

According to the lead designer, the game modes were scrapped due to time constraints. Also, according to the lead designer and a senior programmer, the custom robots had weapons which were against the show's rules which led to them being cut.
