Overview
- Some trainers have different names in this build of the games.
- Firebreather Ray (Union Cave) has a male Pokémon, instead of a female one.
- Pokéfan Brandon (Route 34) has a male Snubbull, instead to a female one.
- Skier Clarissa (Mahogany Gym), has a female Dewgong, instead of a male one.
- The rival's teams were nerfed in later encounters. His teams are also more similar to the rival's teams in Red and Blue.
- Red and Blue's teams were massively buffed in the final games.
- Elite Four members Koga and Bruno stick closer to their specialty types here than in the final games.
- Pokéfan Alex (Route 14) is missing entirely in this build.
- The Indigo Plateau Rival rematch is missing entirely in this build.

These two trainers are noteworthy, in that they are not only completely unused, but at the same time exclusive to this build, all the while being part of two scrapped trainer classes! Given how they were later overwritten, they never made it to the localized games, and thus the names provided below are a romanization of their original Japanese names.
