Prerelease Assets Used in Super Smash Bros.

According to this post, the Sunshine-themed level in Brawl uses prerelease assets that don't appear in the final game. --GlitterBerri (talk) 23:44, 6 September 2016 (EDT)

Mario Beach Party Promotional Windows Disc

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8ICuET4QLQ SuperSonicTailsEas uploaded a rare promotional disc from best buy which contains a some of previously unseen screenshots (i think) and even a lossless version of the trailer/opening preview music intact. Someone investigate and maybe document it's contents?

Anyone mind verifying the authenticity of these images?

DiingelKek uploaded this video featuring what appears to be two never before seen prerelease screenshots of Pinna Park, with one screenshot showing the Pianta tree having a cave. It is very close to the location of the unused Pianta Village portal. I messaged him on here July last year but he hasn't been active since and as I have not found these images anywhere else, I have no way of confirming if they are legitimate or not.--CeilingFan (talk) 05:51, 3 December 2017 (EST)

Yes hello, it is I the person who discovered the portals. The so-called never before seen """"pre-release screenshots"""" that DiingelKek "found" are taken from a Japanese Sunshine commercial which shows an early version of the Mecha-Bowser Appears cutscene for a few seconds. Here it is. As for the tree, I don't think that specific Pianta Tree was supposed to be the Goop portal's location. As a matter of fact since it has an opening it could've been a secret stage.--Super-Xnot (talk) 21:33, 3 December 2017 (EST)
Oh wow, I've seen that commercial multiple time and never noticed that. Thanks! It also shows the Rocket Nozzle in Sirens Beach, which is never used there, in the hotel, or in the casino.--CeilingFan (talk) 22:49, 3 December 2017 (EST)
Actually I don't think you saw the same commercial. There's multiple versions of this one commercial and each has different content that shows a little bit of different stuff. Some are so similar that only ONE SCENE can set them apart. There's one where it shows the Turbo Nozzle at the beginning of Bianco Hills, something that is seen in pre-release screenshots interestingly.--Super-Xnot (talk) 22:59, 3 December 2017 (EST)
Hmm... maybe you are right since I remember everything but the Pinna Park stuff. There's also a ton of near final version screenshots on GameSpot and IGN that show things like a Rocket Nozxle box right at the start of Ricco Harbor and even Nokis in Pianta Village. The game's physical manual has screenshots like a Rocket Nozzle in the first Episode of Ricco Harbor along with the Bloopads and ink graffiti on the water in different places, and a different boat going to the poison seeage stage island in Delfino Plaza. I took some screenshots of Delfino Plaza in the intro before the title screen and of the court scene showing stuff like barrels where they're not supposed to be and some things only found in the flooded version of Delfino Plaza. But I never uploaded them as I forgot to adjust the resolution.--CeilingFan (talk) 23:23, 3 December 2017 (EST)
Yeah. The cutscenes were taken at different times in development. The final cutscene where FLUDD dies, you can see a graffiti in the background that isn't normally there. The Delfino Plaza that the court scene shows is also close to the flooded version. The beginning where you put on FLUDD there's a black object behind Mario. As you said there's two barrels in the opening cutscene, which is also shown in pre-release screenshots(if I remember there's three in the screenshots and two in the cutscene). The tourist map's pictures also show off early stuff. Delfino Plaza's map banner has Banana trees instead of palm, something that can also be seen in pre-release screenshots. But something that can be seen in a few cutscenes is Pinna Park's ferris wheel. As you saw in the cutscene snippet, it was originally red. This was kept throughout development for some time until it was changed. You can see the red color in: Mecha Bowser Appears(as he rises up), the final where FLUDD dies (in the background), and the final where they revive FLUDD(in the background, as a bonus there's two copies of the wheel. One that isn't moving while the other is). So the cutscenes do have information that is worth putting up here, but I don't know where we would put such information. It's not pre-release and it isn't content hidden in-game. Should we make a sub-page dedicated to it, there are more oddities than what you and I have listed? Way more.--Super-Xnot (talk) 13:29, 4 December 2017 (EST)

Help is needed to find this lost footage.

In this video from 15:23-15:35, there's pre-release footage that I can't find for the dear life of me. I don't know where the original uploader found it, and there is no way to contact them so it's a little difficult. Some of it is of the airport, and it has a different look. Instead of the goop looking like Mario, the model's terrain is in the shape of Mario which I find interesting.--Super-Xnot (talk) 22:46, 3 December 2017 (EST)

I remember seeing that footage years ago but the video was deleted by the uploader apparently. It might have been from a Japanese kiosk demo maybe? I don't remember.
The pedestals' designs kinda seem to fit the Corona Mountain Boss unused goop map which seems to have been meant for Airstrip except that unused goop map could be of an earlier version. If you merge the Corona Mountain Boos unused goop map with the Airstrip's level model, it pretty much fits perfectly over where the Goopy Piranha Plant is except there is an extra copy of the goop floating above the ground (or was it beneath?)--CeilingFan (talk) 23:03, 3 December 2017 (EST)

Early Pinna Park

SMS Early pinna park.png

As the Prerelease article points out, there's a hole in the Pianta Tree in the early version of Pinna Park.....

https://tcrf.net/Super_Mario_Sunshine/Unused_Objects#Goop_Gate_Portals Even though the hole's black in the early Pinna Park screenshot, it matches up perfectly with the unused Goop Gate to Pianta Village. --Burb (talk) 12:30, 14 April 2018 (EDT)

Yeah, it does match up perfectly except as you pointed out, portals use rainbow goop whereas that cave is black like most secret level entrances. So we can't really be sure, to be honest.--CeilingFan (talk) 14:10, 14 April 2018 (EDT)
