Interface
- The interface was completely different.
- The player arrows were reused from the previous installment.
Game World
General
- Car reflections were reused from the previous installment as a placeholder.
- Checkpoints were reused from the previous installment as a placeholder.
San Francisco
- The church had purple flags which are not present in the final version.
- The tram originally had 2D passengers on it.
- The minimap was different.
Sounds
- The Aston Martin DB7 Vantage reused the sounds from the Panoz Roadster, since it didn't have its own sounds yet until they were made around April and May 2000.
- Similarly, the Double-Decker Bus and the London Cab reused the sounds from the Panoz Esperante GTR-1. This behavior is still present if a third-party car modification has no sounds of its own; therefore, it will reuse the sounds of the Panoz Esperante GTR-1 to compensate.
- The Ford Mustang Fastback used the Camaro sounds, which are unused in the final game.
- The Mini Cooper Classic reused the sounds from the VW New Beetle as a placeholder.
Vehicles
- Car damage was similar to the previous installment.
- Some screenshots portray the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado, which was allegedly removed due to licensing issues despite the newer Cadillac Eldorado appearing in the game. These leftovers were present in the MM3323 build, but they were completely removed in the final version.
- va_wedelivertruck_s had a cut "Fresh Vegetables" livery in one of the game's pre-release videos. In the same video, the unused minivan and pickup truck appear.
- The Double-Decker Bus had yellow "London Transport" text on the sides of it.
- Some cars had different names.
