Developer Commentary about PC Engine version
The Japanese manual for this Marble Madness (Mega Drive) has a two-page spread (pages 16 & 17) devoted to the story of why the PC Engine version was never released: the ROM production costs were too high. This version was finished and the developers worked hard to overcome the fact that the PC Engine has an 8-bit CPU and lacks FM sound synthesis.
