An early version of the protagonist's All Out Attack portrait was left in the game as a placeholder for Futaba's portrait. Between the early and final versions, the protagonist's face was heavily altered along with the back of his neck and a small bit of hair.

A placeholder for the graphic for the Ambush tutorial that uses the input and name from the Japanese version. The version of Kamoshida's Palace seen in the placeholder graphic uses simpler lighting compared to the final, and the pictures on the wall are completely different. A piece of the HUD is visible in the corner of the placeholder tutorial graphic.

Early/Placeholder Flashback Scenes

With the exception of 5 images (will be stated below), these placeholders have upscaled, to 1080p, versions for PS4.

A flashback of the protagonist, Ryuji, and Ann in a hall within the TV studio. Early shot has them in their winter school uniforms, instead of their summer ones, Ann carrying Morgana in a schoolbag instead of the protagonist, and a border, which final flashbacks don't have. The shot has debug features as well: a visible 4/1 (April 1st) date, which is impossible to reach in-game, and an EDIT MODE, relating to the scene's duration. This shot is only in 720p.

Every Palace except for Futaba's and Shido's have a clearer version of the maps shown when picking up a map key item. The text on the maps read, in order: Tower of the Old Castle Floor Plan (Temporary), Art Museum Floor Plan (Temporary), Bank Floor Plan (Temporary), Space Station Floor Plan (Temporary), and Casino Floor Plan (Temporary). These graphics were cropped and shrunk down to 64x64 in the PlayStation 4 version of the game.
