Ocean Commander is a shoot-em-up in which humanity's state is so dire that even global warming cannot stop (underwater) wars from happening.

As with many of CyberPlanet Interactive's casual games, it was ported to many platforms, including the PlayStation 2, the Nintendo DS, and the Wii, not to mention it even had a reskin.

Unused Graphics

Opening

All of the following graphics are found within Data\Title.

city.jpg is an unused, more "complete" variant of s5-1.jpg.

Main Menu

All of the following graphics are found within Data\Console\main menu1.

bg main menu.jpg and bg main menu_.jpg are early renditions of the game's main menu graphic, which is labeled as bg main menuLow.jpg. Notably, in both early graphics, the copyright information in the bottom right corner is missing, and in the latter, the area where the Credits button should be is replaced with a "Version 3.0" text. There is also another early file, bg main menuLow_.jpg, though its contents are the same as bg main menu_.jpg.

Unused Sounds

Of the audio files found within Data\Sound, several are never called by the game's executable.

20 Alert.wav

Was likely meant to be heard before a boss fight.

Other\Alert.wav

Possibly a different variation of 20 Alert.wav.

Other\Door Move 01.wav

A sound of a mechanical door opening.

Other\Door Move 02.wav

A different sound of a mechanical door opening.

Other\Door Move 03.wav

The previous two sounds pasted together.

Announcer

Also found in the Other folder are four audio files for an announcer, which would play when starting a mission, clearing a mission, getting a game over, and when approaching a boss.

In year XXXX earth was enormously changed,
Arctic ice was melt down because
earth’s temperature was increasing
and some volcanoes appeared under the sea
that cause about 90% of the earth changed into water.

All continents turn into many islands that make
Marine Technology progresses quickly.
Ten years after Chaos Empire was born
and their objective is to rule the earth.

But Earth Federation is developing a special
submarine for this war.

Its code name is “S-7001A Metal Fin” that has
a dexterous movement and adjustability to many forms.

But it is a prototype model that some parts are developing and
the war has just begun. You must get out from the base
to protect the earth without additional parts.
Don’t worry; they may be put in your ship soon.

You have only one objective to destroy all Chaos Empire ships
and bases. Future of the earth depends on YOU!!
In the year 3011, the planet Earth evolved through
disastrous changes.Mountains and sheets
of ice in the Arctica melted due to global warming.
Volcanoes under the sea emerged causing 90%
of Earth’s continent entirely flooded.

What is left of the mass continents are scattered islands.
Ten years after the Chaos Empire was born, marine
technology progressed instantly to adapt to the changing
environment, whilst the main objective is to rule the Earth.

At the same time, the Earth Federation is developing a
special submarine in preparation for this war.

Its code name is “S-7001A Metal Fin” that has
a dexterous movement and adjustability to many forms.

However, this war machine is only a prototype model,
in which some parts are still under development. But the war
has already begun. There is no time and you must get out
from the base to protect the Earth. Don’t worry...
you will find more weapons and spare parts in your ship.

Your mission is to destroy all of Chaos Empire’s ships
and bases. The future of the Earth lies in your hands!!

Finally, you destroyed Crimson Star,

this marks the end of the war…

Suddenly a dark shadow swiftly passes by!

That was Dr. Shark teleporting from Crimson Star!

Dr. Shark, “As long as I live, my mission to rule
the world will continue!”

HA HA HA!

And the dark shadow fades away in the deep blue ocean.

Even though Dr. Shark has meticulously escaped,

once again, our world is back to peace.

But in any event, if evil forces attempt to retaliate,

Metal Fin will be ready to protect and
fight for peace on planet Earth!
You have successfully destroyed Crimson Star...

This marks the end of the war...

Suddenly a dark shadow swiftly passes by!

Wait a minute!!!
That’s Dr. Shark’s teleporting from Crimson Star!

Dr. Shark, “As long as I live, my mission to rule
the world will continue!”

HA HA HA!

And the dark shadow fades away in the deep blue ocean.

Despite Dr. Shark’s mysterious escape and disappearance,

once again, peace has been restored.

Anyhow, if evil forces attempt to retaliate,

Metal Fin will be ready to protect and
fight for peace on planet Earth!
