Metroid: Samus Returns
Metroid: Samus Returns |
---|
Developer: MercurySteam[1] This game has unused text. |
Metroid: Samus Returns is a remake of Metroid II: Return of Samus. It's rather controversial, chiefly for the fact that Nintendo shot down the fan-made Another Metroid 2 Remake shortly before announcing this game.
Unused Text
To do: There is plenty of development text in .code file and lua scripts, including comments, references to a debug menu and development tools |
Spider Boost
To do: Add the other languages. |
There are text strings for all languages that teach the player how to perform the "secret" technique of laying a Power Bomb while attached to a wall with the Spider Ball, and then blasting through the air. Seems like it originally wasn't meant to be a secret.
String Name | English Text |
---|---|
GUI_STATUS_ARACHNOIMPULSE | The Spider Boost can be used while in Spider Ball form. It will launch you forward, damaging enemies you make contact with. |
Other English Strings
There's also a table of English-only strings, possibly from an earlier build of the game or related to debug functions. The GUI strings are different from the ones used when the game is set to English.
To do: Compare these strings to the used English ones. |
