Edit Mode
A debug menu is located at SNES address $02DA0D-02DB89, which is right after the "New Game" intro.
Lagoon's Edit Mode can be accessed in the US and European versions with Game Genie codes F620-07AC 2C29-0DDC or Pro Action Replay (PAR) codes 02D94F18 02D950DA. With the codes active, select Continue on the title screen (you must have an existing save file).
You can enable full inventory, modify your current level, and warp to any map. Data from the current saved game is used to determine which storyline flags are set.
German Version
The German release of Lagoon has a leftover debug feature which seems to have been removed from all other versions.
Pro Action Replay (PAR) code 028256EA will cause all dialogue events to be followed by the event number appearing on-screen. This was probably used to aid in the translation process.
Unused Text
Located at SNES address $008000-008012 is the following string:
SFXBIOSSYSTEMVER2.0
Unused Item Slots
Three unused item slots are present in the game. They are all named "Armor Shop" in the English version, "ぶきや" (Bukiya) in the Japanese version, and "RüSTUNGSLADEN" (Armor Shop) in the German version.
Strangely, these are all set to true when enabling the debug mode.
Regional Differences
- The European and US versions have "Licensed by Nintendo" added to the Kemco screen.

The shiny ball's icon has a sparkle in the center, but looks a bit like a stylized cross.
