GuitarFreaks & DrumMania Masterpiece Silver
GuitarFreaks & DrumMania Masterpiece Silver |
---|
Developer: Konami Software Shanghai This game has unused code. |
This article is a work in progress. ...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes. Notes: To add the lots and lots of leftover graphics from GuitarFreaks V & DrumMania V and its PS2 port |
GuitarFreaks & DrumMania Masterpiece Silver is the first of two "compilation" releases that feature songs from GuitarFreaks 5thMIX & drummania 4thMIX to GuitarFreaks 11thMIX & drummania 10thMIX, in order to "compensate" for the lack of home releases for the series until the V era.
NOTE: All of the paths take in consideration the filesystem extracted from each of the game's .pak files, and all files are located in the folder data\product\d3 unless stated otherwise.

Hidden HUD Credit
The GF11dm10 skin contains a credit within some of its gameplay HUD assets, which is hidden during gameplay. More specifically, it's a credit for the artist Takao Yamamoto (AMAMON.), who designed that game's interface. While it's important to mention that there is a credit in the gameplay HUD assets of the GF9dm8 skin too, for artist Keigo Fukushima (K-GO), it is not hidden in-game.

Unused Song Remnant
Graphical data for the licensed song Boyfriend (cover of the aiko song; originally from GuitarFreaks 6thMIX & drummania 5thMIX), which includes an unique banner and a title tag, can be found in the game's files, the former being in tex_gf_idx_image_02.bin\IMG_CO0005, and the latter in IDX_COT02, from an unreferenced package with the hash 9414e4d2. Sadly, this is all that remains of the song, as there is no folder with the song's ID (0522) in data\product\music, which would contain chart, sound and video data.
Placeholder Graphics
IDX_COT is a placeholder nametag texture with two variants. It can be found in multiple files, as follows:
- Variant 1
- tex_dm_game.bin
- tex_dm_game2.bin
- tex_dm_game3.bin
- tex_gf_game.bin
- tex_gf_game2.bin
- tex_gf_game3.bin
- tex_gf_session.bin
- tex_gf_session2.bin
- tex_gf_session3.bin
- Variant 2
- tex_gf_hitchart.bin
- tex_gf_information.bin
- tex_gf_result.bin
- tex_gf_result_total.bin
- tex_gf_resultss.bin
- tex_gf_scoreranking.bin
- tex_gf_select_music.bin
- tex_records_secret.bin
- tex_records_skill.bin
- tex_ss_select_music.bin
In a similar vein, IMG_COT is a placeholder banner texture. It can be found in two files; tex_gf_result.bin and tex_gf_resultss.bin.
The unreferenced package with the hash 9414e4d2 contains the songs' nametags as seen in the gameplay screen. The texture IDX_COT02, alongside containing the unused nametag for Boyfriend, also has a placeholder graphic for SOME HARD REACTIONS. The song's final graphic can be found in the texture IDX_COT08, however.
Unused Course
Referenced in data\product\music\course_info.bin, which contains code for the game's Nonstop courses, is a completely unused one, at the top of the listing. Internally, it is called the 00s' course, and one of its songs is the aforementioned removed song Boyfriend, which may have been the reason why the course was removed too. Banner (tex_gf_idx_image_11.bin\IMG_COT9100) and nametag (9414e4d2\IDX_COT9100) graphics can also be found.
