Counter-Strike: Source/Unused Models
This is a sub-page of Counter-Strike: Source.
Contents
Counter-Terrorist
A copy of the SEAL Team 6 playermodel, with only one animation and his UV mapping seeming to be for the pre-May 2005 design's texture, hence the current one having them improper on his radio, the face on his left ankle, and the spot on his helmet. The old model also has special goggles like the past designs.

Valve's Gift Grab 2011
This was only used in 2011. It went unused after Christmas time. Day of Defeat: Source also used a similar model for the same event as well.
props_junk
food_pile02.mdl
A bunch of garbage that never got used.
Unused Map Models
Models that were not placed in the maps.
cs_assault
dryer_box2.mdl and washer_box.mdl:
An open variant of dryer_box.mdl and washer_box2.mdl.
moneypallet02abcde.mdl, moneypallet03abcde.mdl, and moneypalletabcde.mdl:
All of the money pallets never got to see the light of day. Though most of them are repeated.
cs_militia
This gets replaced by a different model in-game.
cs_office
coffee_mug3.mdl
A coffee mug that says "What's Sleep?" This particular model is unused but another model uses the same material as a skin in the map.
computer.mdl
A model that contains the keyboard, mouse and monitor altogether with wires. Suggesting that this was made before making each object individual and breakable.
computer_case.mdl
Another model that contains the computer tower with wires, too. Again this may have been cut due to being a different model and breakable.
light_shop_on.mdl
An untextured fluorescent light fixture.
projector_p7a.mdl & projector_p7b.mdl:
Pieces of the projector's motherboard.
de_inferno
bushgreenbig.mdl and bushgreensmall.mdl:
chimney01.mdl
A big chimney. Only the second chimney gets to play a role in the game and at a smaller size.
de_nuke
car_nuke_black.mdl and car_nuke_red.mdl:
de_port
These models are used in de_port_tr map, which was leaked along with the Source Developer Asset Repository in 2023.
clouds.mdl and clouds2.mdl:
Clouds designed for the skybox.
tankoil01.mdl and tankoil02.mdl:
de_prodigy
prodcratesa.mdl and prodcratesb.mdl:
de_tides
tides_light_fixture.mdl
A lamp that never was implemented into a map. Using Valve's model viewer and checking the "Physics Model", shows that the collision is out of place.
turtle_rock_flag.mdl
A Turtle Rock Studios flag! Why this was never used is a mystery.
de_train
Miscellaneous
river.vmf (October 10, 2005), river2.vmf (November 8, 2005) and river3.vmf (November 15, 2005) can be found in the models folder of props/cs_militia. Opening them with Valve's Hammer editor shows these. These .vmfs indicate that the river models were initially part of the level geometry before being converted into models by Valve or Turtle Rock Studios.
rocks.3ds may be a developer leftover. This .3ds file seems to be the earliest version of rocks01.mdl, which can be found in the same directory.
