This cactus is UNDER CONSTRUCTION
This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.

Very little is known about this version of Chess aside from being one of the bonus games on many of AtGames' Genesis systems.

Crash Debugger

Chess UnlGen-Crash1.png

A simple crash handler exists in the game, and can be triggered by using a corrupter program or exploiting glitches.

A complete list of the game's error messages is below:

ERROR: Display queue overflow
ERROR: Illegal call while VBL is off
ERROR: Pattern table too big
ERROR: Map is not initialized
ERROR: Update of uninitialized area
ERROR: Invalid sprite number
ERROR: MCB broken
ERROR: MCB structure not initialized
ERROR: Too much stack requested
ERROR: Too little stack requested
ERROR: Out of memory

Anti-Piracy

Hmmm...
To do:
How does this actually get triggered on real hardware?

Chess UnlGen-Ap1.png

If the game detects it's an illegal copy, it will display this error screen and lock up. It can sometimes be triggered using a corrupter engine, but this is rare.
