Regional Differences

Hmmm...
To do:
There may be more changes, especially in the cutscenes.

Both the Japanese and western versions of the game are presented in English, but some text was touched up between releases.

Japanese English
Tall Crown Tall Clown
B. Test Tube Test Tube

Additionally, screens were added after the credits in the western versions telling the player to try a higher difficulty, with a special 'You are the True Dark Knight' message for completing the game on Mania. The Japanese version freezes at the end of the credits with no such screens.

Catwoman

During the first battle against Catwoman there are two different scenes between the Japanese and western versions after defeating her. While the western version shows the 'Scene Clear' tittle first with the later transition of Catwoman getting up and deliberately jumping off the building; in the Japanese version, this transition is backwards. An intriguing melody that would be used after her second battle's defeat is used here first with an animation of a weakened Catwoman getting up until she falls off the building with the 'Score Clear' tittle appearing later on.

After this, it follows the cutscenes where she's 'saved by kitty-litter' in the same for both versions.
