So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

Asterix is Infogrames' first game based on the French comic book of the same name. This version was also ported to the Game Boy.

Cheat Menu

Start the game, and press Start to pause it. Then, enter the following code: Up (x8), Down (x4), Left (x2), A, B, Right (x8), Left (x4), Up (x2), B, A. A sound will confirm correct code entry.

Press Start again, and the game will return to the title screen, where an extra "CHEAT" menu item should now be visible. You can use the menu to start on any of the game's levels, or set the number of lives and continues (up to 99).

The Game Boy version also has this menu, and is accessed in the same way.

Invulnerability

Follow the Cheat Menu procedure above, but hold Up + Right + A + B before pressing Start to return to the title screen. Start a new game with any cheats you prefer, and press Start to pause the game again. Enter the Cheat Menu code again, and after the sound plays to confirm correct entry press Start again to become fully invulnerable.
