Pokémon Masters EX is the franchise's take on the gacha game formula, featuring hundreds of different Pokémon Trainers from the franchise's history (from Gen I all the way up to Gen IX). Take on story content, monthly battle challenges and much more. It's also notable for being the first time since Pokémon Puzzle League that Ash Ketchum from the Pokémon anime has appeared in a Pokémon video game.

Mindscapes
Filename | Image | Description |
---|---|---|
Tx_ch0110_01_kasumi_mindscape00 | An earlier version of Misty's Mindscape graphic. The colors are slightly darker and a "temporary" symbol is present. At some point in development Misty (Swimsuit) was the default version of Misty until it was later changed to use her Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! design. | |
Tx_ch0000_01_red_mindscape00 | A Mindscape graphic for the unused version Red. This Mindscape depicts the PML Stadium during the day. A nightime version of this Mindscape would later be created for Lear & Hoopa. | |
Tx_ch0012_00_koruni_mindscape00 | An earlier version of Korrina's Mindscape graphic, which is larger compared to all other Mindscape graphics in the game. | |
Tx_ch0014_00_cheren_mindscape00 | An earlier version of Cheren's Mindscape graphic. Depicts Route 5 from Pokémon Black and White. |

Items
The following item images are larger, unfinished versions of battle items which are in the final game.
Sync Move Videos
A set of four videos were found in version 1.0.0 that have small differences. These videos are normally able to be viewed in the shop.
Japanese Voicelines Blue and Lyra's Sync Move videos play the audio as they normally do, with the one difference being they play a voiceline in Japanese. In the final game, Sync Move videos do not feature any voicelines.
Muted Videos Hilbert and Olivia's Sync Moves videos have no audio at all, no sound effects or anything. Olivia's video also lags at the start of the rock forming.
Changed Graphics
Trainers
Cyrus
Originally Cyrus' model had a design inaccuracy where part of his outfit was missing, showing more neck. Approximately 2 months later his model was updated and the renders were updated alongside it.
1.12.0 - 2.0.0 | |||
---|---|---|---|
2.1.0 - Current | |||
Crasher Wake
Prior to version 2.9.0 Crasher Wake used a different render in menus. This was later changed to one where his hands are on his hips, preventing him from covering other character's faces on the results screen.
1.0.0 - 2.9.0 | 2.9.0 - Current |
---|---|
Siebold (Holiday 2019)
A whole 2.5 years after his release Holiday Siebold's model was slightly updated with his hands being adjusted. Only his Vs render was changed however. This update coincided with his 6*EX being released that same month.
1.2.0 | 2.18.0 - Current |
---|---|
Adaman
Initially Adaman's model had a small error where his right eyebrow was not modeled correctly. This was later fixed and all his renders and lodge artwork were corrected, though this isn't really noticeable on his standard menu renders.
2.33.0 - 2.34.0 | |||
---|---|---|---|
2.35.0 - Current ! | |||
Pokémon
Eevee
In version 2.38.0 Eevee's model was changed to it's model from Pokémon HOME. This coincides with the release of Elaine & Eevee and affected the existing Leaf & Eevee. This change is likely because a female model and shiny model were needed. The most noticeable changes are that textures are higher quality and the "baked" shadows are replaced with updated UV maps.

Unused Graphics
Trainers
Red
Blacked out renders of an early version of Red with a "temporary" symbol placed over the images. The silhouettes' shoes resemble Red's Pokémon Red and Blue design. This version of Red may have been an early version of Sygna Suit Red & Charizard or Red was meant to use his oldest design as the default Sync Pair for Red before this was changed.
Cheren
Renders of Cheren using his design from Pokémon Black and White with "temporary" symbols placed over the images. While Cheren is playable in this game, he uses his design from Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 instead. This Cheren model was accidentally used in this video uploaded to the Official Pokémon YouTube channel. See here.
Scientist
Blacked out renders of the Scientist (♂) Trainer Class with a "temporary" symbol placed over the images. Along with the Mindscape as evidence it is believed the Scientist could've been playable at some point. The images are found within the character folders for the Player's character Scottie(♂) and Bettie(♀), though the significance of this is unknown. Trainer Classes would not become playable until the addition of Naomi (Sightseer (♀)) & Sandslash. As of yet there is still no playable Scientist.
Other Trainer Graphics
A blacked out render of the Blackbelt Trainer Class with a "temporary" symbol placed over the image.
A render of Professor Bellis in a T-Pose with a "temporary" symbol placed on her hair. Considering it's found within the directory for tutorials, It may have been a placeholder graphic for a tutorial.
An image of Cheren (in his 6*EX pose) in a frame. Likely used for testing characters getting new renders via 6*EX or how characters will be framed in the games' menus.
Pokémon
A bizzare image of a level 199 Strike Fire-type Lucario with the same kanji spammed throughout the infobox where the Trainer and Pokémon name would be. Curiously 6 stars are present in the image, suggesting 6*EX might have been planned from the beginning but not implemented until the game's first Anniversary.
Unused Items
Note: Some of these items may appear at a later point in the future. If they do they'll be moved to Event Items
Event Vouchers
Note: These Vouchers may appear at a later point in the future. If they do they'll be moved to Event Items
Legendary Prize Box Coins
Seeing as how there won't be more Legendary Events, we can safely assume these will not be used as other Prize Box events use the basic Prize Box Coins.
Unused Menu Graphics
A dummy graphic found in the Battle UI files of version 1.0.0. It's purpose is unknown.
A placeholder Story icon, showing 2D stock Hoopa promotional artwork from the 18th movie as well as in-game renders of Paulo and a currently unknown girl next to a Hoopa ring, using Cheryl's Mindscape as a background.
Old tips image for Status Conditions found within ui/image/tutorial/dialog. This shows early icons of the Poisoned, Badly Poisoned, Paralyzed, Burned and Frozen Status Conditions.
Old tips image for Co-op battles found within ui/image/tutorial/dialog. This image shows Rosa, Wulfric and Cheren (with his unused design) with their Partner Pokémon.
Old Mission image for found within ui/image/Dialog/NewMission/. Features a slightly older design for the Poryphone with stretched out eyes and is seemingly unshaded.
Mock-up images found within ui/image/Dialog/Deck/. Features an early version of the Co-op battle screen with the unused version of Red (& Pikachu) as a Sync Pair at level 199.
A mock-up image of the Unity Attack gauge found in ui/image/Dialog/BondGauge. Looks completely different to the final game's Unity Attack meter.
Unused Video
A very basic, short Scouting video named "gacha_TranerGateIn" was found in version 1.0.0. It was likely a placeholder before the final set of scouting videos were created later in development.
Unused Models
All the models here are only present in versions 1.0.0 to 1.3.0 and have been deleted from current versions of the game.
Trainers

---|---|---|
Ch0069_00_30elitem | Originally the Male Ace Trainer from Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire was in the game before it was changed to use the Male Ace Trainer design from Pokémon Sun and Moon instead. | |
Ch9999_00_common | A generic humanoid figure with a flat texture. This character model appears in the unused Sync Pair Scout video. |
