Regional Differences
Publisher Logos
Since the game featured different publishers in US and Europe, the Konami logo was changed appropriately. All logos before the title screen were removed from the Collection rereleases.
Title Screen
The title screens were changed based on the game's names in the respective regions it was released in.
One interesting note is that the Japanese version has "PRESS START" immediately on the title screen and the player can just enter the game immediately. However, the original US/European versions don't display it until after the engine drive-by sound effect plays, so the player has to wait until after it displays before starting the game.

Name Input
The Japanese releases have input for katakana as well as romaji characters. The original US/European release removes the kana characters but rearranges the remaining Latin characters to fill up the space left behind. While the Japanese Collection version still has the same input screen, the European Collection removes the kana but this time does not rearrange the Latin characters and only lazily moves up the remaining characters instead.
Additionally, "NAME INPUT" was changed to "ENTER YOUR NAME" in the original US/European release but was reverted for the European Collection.

Menu Options
Game Select
"TEST RUN", "SPOT ENTRY" and "FULL ENTRY" were changed to "PRACTICE RACE", "SINGLE RACE" and "SERIES CIRCUIT" respectively in the US and European versions. The Collection version reverts this back to the original Japanese menu names.

Course Names
Some of the names of the courses available have been changed in the US and European versions. The "San Marino" course also has an extra space inserted as a typo fix. Interestingly enough, the European version also differs from the US version rather than being the exact same, albeit only changing the name of one course from "Berlin" to "Hockenheim".
The Collection version released in both Japan and Europe axes all of the course names in favor of plainly naming them "Course A", "Course B", etc.
