Image Names

Don't forget to add the game's name to your image name, especially b/c of how generic filenames like 1.png are. Also, prototypes get their own namespace on this site. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 22:17, 16 November 2017 (EST)

Thanks, have read stuff on the site for years but never contributed, I have a bunch of stuff to add for a lot of games and create for games not listed but still learning from the help pages for the formatting and placement. I wasn't sure if the alpha and beta versions were considered prototypes. Torment: Tides of Numenera is my first addition. Also, is this the correct place for a response, I'm not sure how User talk works yet. Also, should I go ahead and rename the images? Still lurking... --From: sleepy9090 (talk) 08:30, 17 November 2017 (EST)

Could you just describe the differences in the proto instead of dumping a ton of full-size screenshots on the page? A few example images here and there would be fine (maybe a YouTube video?), but we don't need a page literally filled with 4MB+ image files. --BMF54123 (talk) 17:45, 18 November 2017 (EST)
Hi, I'm prolly on the wrong place, i just saw this, i can probably make some youtube vids, im just archive crazy and very busy at work, if it is easy, i can dump the protos to anyone who has room and someone else can disect them, im a software dev, and am about to bounce to another position, so would like to move these soon, i wont have time to do much here much longer, i can give tips on where the content is, lemme know, im good with emails or questions on content diffs as well, thanks The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sleepy9090 (talk • contribs)
If they're not widely available and you want to upload them for posterity, I'll hold onto a copy of the prototype builds. -Ehm (talk) 18:00, 18 November 2017 (EST)
not sure how, lemme know a sftp or other secure and i can do that, if you find an alternative source let me know, total gigs are high if you want them all, ive archived since the beginning The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sleepy9090 (talk • contribs)
Upload to Mega and then send the link via e-mail or Discord or something? I can't offer any sort of FTP option, sorry. -Ehm (talk) 18:15, 18 November 2017 (EST)
Uploading to Mega now, thanks for the tips The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sleepy9090 (talk • contribs)
Hi, I was hoping to dig into the prototypes but haven't been able to find them elsewhere and the Mega URL does not work. Would it be possible to re-upload? Carrot (talk) 20:38, 25 March 2023 (UTC)

Gameplay screenshots

Not sure what's up with the random gameplay screenshots added along with the debug text sections. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 14:27, 12 August 2018 (EDT)

They are somewhat related to the tty output, to give someone an idea of where the player is at when I stopped the logging, or what a particular area looks like when debug messsages occur The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sleepy9090 (talk • contribs)
Ah. Could easily put that in text though. Also, watch out for common strings (i.e. the PlayStation libraries by Sony Computer Entertainment and the strings that are in just about every PlayStation game) Any strings found in >50 PlayStation games can safely go into the Common Things page.--From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 21:23, 20 August 2018 (EDT)

4:3

Can you not use ePSXe because it stretches the video to 16:9 and that makes everyone look fat. --LilShootDawg (talk) 10:57, 11 October 2018 (EDT)

Unfortunately I'm not going to have the time to fix any uploaded images due to time constraints with work and family. The tony hawk beta images could be resized. I'm not going to be able to do this and am not sure if there are any others uploaded like this since it has been months since I last worked on contributing to tcrf, and that was a lot of PlayStation games. --Sleepy9090
