JPEG Images

Warning

You need to stop overriding administrative edits. I should not have had to revert the Hey You, Pikachu! title screen twice; that is how the screen is SUPPOSED to look, letterbox and all. Images need to be uploaded at their native resolution, as they appear in the game (or as close as possible, given emulator limitations), without any crappy resampling or JPEG artifacts; all of this is spelled out in the image guidelines, which you were supposed to have read before uploading anything. Windows XP

Barring that this might does not even qualify (according to BMF54123) because it's not strictly a game:

  1. The title screen is not even a valid resolution. A virtual machine should be able to give you the proper resolution.
  2. Microsoft Bear - the associated program dates back to Windows 95; I don't know what it does
  3. Logon Screen - USED. It's the fallback if you disable the Welcome screen or use a system set up with domain login. If you ever used a public Windows XP computer (such as grade school computers) you've seen it.
  4. Unused MIDIs, Candy Cane texture - no comment; noot sure about either of these
  5. Anti-piracy message - I'm not sure what you are trying to say here, but did you get it from Raymond Chen's blog (The Old New Thing)? If so I think you misunderstood what he said (I would need to find the post myself to check)

To clarify what andlabs mentioned: setdebug and jdbgmgr are for debugging ActiveX and Java, respectively (not unused; the MIDI files are intended to be used as Windows MIDI Synth demos, every version of Windows since 3.1 includes some of these; you basically described exactly how the candy cane texture IS used --Devin 15:32, 5 December 2012 (EST)

False Information

  1. The text "CO.,LTD." was not removed from Donkey Kong to fit in the game's "HEX". It was either to match Nintendo's current copyright style, or to better fit on the screen (probably the latter).
  2. The colors are exactly the same between the original and rerelease. If you see a "difference" between the two shots, it's because your emulator is using a different palette than YK's.
  3. The DuckTales remake is not "made by the same company". It's being developed by WayForward and published by Capcom.
  4. Why did you add "video=yes" to the page?
  5. There is no need to add information about a game that hasn't even been released yet. We don't want placeholder information on this wiki.

Clarification

Let's clarify a couple of things so you understand why you were blocked (again):

  • That "SKITTLES!" on the cleanup templates page has been there since the beginning. It's a bit of harmless humor. Had you bothered to check the page history, you might have noticed that and realized that it wasn't "vandalism", but paying attention doesn't seem to be one of your strong points.
  • The sucks template is reserved for the most embarrassingly awful pages on the wiki, which the Wii Play article is obviously not. The tag's usage is quite clearly described in the "tagging articles" section of the rules and guidelines.

Frankly, I'm tired of constantly having to revert your edits and clean up after you. Please note that your next block will most likely be permanent, because I don't feel that talking to brick walls is terribly productive. --BMF54123 (talk) 20:31, 12 September 2013 (EDT)

"Stage Clear" Brawl Announcement

Hey there, I remember a little bit ago you edited the Super Smash Bros. Brawl page and mentioned that there was an unused "Stage Clear!" announcement, although the OGG file itself got misplaced and was instead a duplicate of the Fighting Alloy Team OGG. However, I have a quick question to ask you - where did you find those announcements?
I had a sound dump of the PAL version of the game, which had a ton of unused sounds itself, but I wasn't able to pinpoint either this or the FAT announcement anywhere, and I was pretty thorough when I was checking.
