File Names

When uploading files to the wiki, it's good practice to include the game's name. One can also move the images to include the name. --From: CounterDiving (talk) 04:33, 23 August 2021 (UTC)

Mother 3 prerelease images

The correct tag to use for tagging Mother 3 prerelease images is {{prerelease-image|Mother 3}}. --ΓBSOD 22:45, 25 August 2021 (UTC)

Thank you

This is unrelated to any editing help whatsoever, but thank you for your work on the Mother 3 prerelease pages. The sheer work and dedication to document and source all of the information on those articles alone is commendable, and it's arresting seeing how much work was done to preserve a piece of gaming ephemera and history. Thank you.

I greatly appreciate it!

Thank you, it really means a lot to hear that. I've been researching MOTHER 3 since even before the GBA version came out, and until recent years it was a subject not many people seemed interested in. I'm glad TCRF offers a clean and organized way for people to access all this information!

Prerelease:Mother 3 Characters

Hello! I've been a big fan of EarthBound 64 for quite a while, even though I've found the Mother series a little bit underwhelming so far (I've played the first game and part of the second and liked them, though I've found them a bit tedious and slow). Out of the trilogy, Mother 3 (and by association EarthBound 64) is the one that fascinates me the most, as seeing the old demo photos and screenshots just makes me want to play the n64 version all the more. I've never played the third one in the slightest (though I definitely want to someday), but I enjoy collecting high-quality pictures and scans for the series. You may have seen me edit some pages related to EarthBound 64 on this wiki, mostly pertaining to replacing photos with better-quality ones; however, what I most want to edit is the Differences page regarding the N64 version. Since I have not played Mother 3 yet, I am trying to avoid spoilers; yet I still would like to contribute to the Cutscenes/Events page and the characters page as much as possible. I have uploaded some screenshots from Starmen.net; I can remove them when necessary. I also wondered what the criteria was for putting characters in the characters section; could they be physical differences? If not, then personality traits? My info regarding the characters in the N64 version comes from here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vzKgNFoYVZnMGtTGrKaY36GcwiAX3USf8rcP3yhdvIs/edit#heading=h.ngqp6wwbtn34 Thanks for your time, and THANK YOU SO MUCH for editing all of these EarthBound 64 pages in the first place. Boney?

Just wanted to ask you something. On a Reddit page made by Khaj_SmashBros concerning EB64, he stated that Boney was never actually confirmed to be a playable character in the N64 version of Mother 3, instead being a AI-controlled party member like King from Mother 2. Is there any evidence to confirm this? Was Boney playable in EB64?

If you don't mind, I was also wondering whether I should add Nippolyte to the Differences subpage, since all of the evidence we have on his appearance in the N64 version of Mother 3 is based on one screenshot of the Sunset Cemetery supposedly featuring a render of him in the graveyard. Thanks again! NintenBOUND (talk) 00:11, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

Responding On User Talk Pages

Hello, I would like to let you know that when responding to Users on your talk page, don't go to their talk page to add your response, instead responded to the message from them on your page with a colon like this.

(Example: I think that graphic is actually used. --User:Example)

You aren't in trouble or anything, but I just wanted to let you know. Have a good day/night/whatever and keep up the good work. --Mantis (talk) 06:51, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

Mother 3 Music Section?

Howdy! Should I add a music section to the Mother 3/Differences page? We already have confirmation that a number of tracks would have appeared in the N64 version of Mother 3, such as

Big Shot's Theme (obviously from the Spaceworld '99 trailer)
Bon Voyage, Amigo (from various magazines)
The Mind of a Thief (Khaj's words, not mine)
Samba de Combo (Again, Khaj's words, not mine)
Tazmily Village Theme (From 1101.com)
Battle Theme 5/Etude for Ghosts (1101.com)
Pigmask Theme/Sad Version of His Highness' Theme (Originally meant to be Mother 3‍ 's main theme)

And we also have music tracks that are semi-confirmed, such as

Piggy Guys (Flint Rhythm-Combos a Pigmask Soldier to the beat of the song in Spaceworld '97 footage, according to Khaj)
Fetch, My Dog, Fetch! (Would have presumably been the music for the scrapped minecart cutscene, as the song sincs up with existing footage perfectly)
Run, My Dog, Run! (To a lesser extent, since Fetch, My Dog, Fetch! is present also)
MROB-6270M (supposedly heard in the Spaceworld '99 demo)

Anyways, let me know what you think. Ciao! NintenBOUND (talk) 15:05, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

N64 Mother 3 specifications?

Hello! Not really related to the wiki, but;

At Spaceworld '99, Mother 3 was confirmed to be released as a standard Nintendo 64 cartridge, with the same internal size as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (around 32 MB). It would also have used a Rumble Pak, but my question is this: with all of the screenshots we have of the August 2000 prototype of Mother 3, and with the knowledge we possess of the game's rather large scale/scope (it even pushed the limits of the GBA when it was released on there), would the game have required a 64 MB cartridge (like Resident Evil 2 or Conker's Bad Fur Day), or at the very least have required an Expansion Pak? We know from IGN's reports of the Spaceworld '99 demo of Mother 3 that there was quite a bit of draw-distance fog, but that of course could have been improved from then until the time of the game's planned release. Again, this isn't anything concrete, but I wanted to hear your thoughts anyways.

I'd also like to hear your thoughts on the game's box art. The Japanese release of Mother 3‍ 's box art would most likely have been simply the GBA version's box art but with Japanese N64 box dimensions, but what about the game's box art in other regions? (For simplicity's sake, let's just refer to this conceptional regional box art as the North American "box art".) The localization producer for Mother/EarthBound Beginnings, Phil Sandhop, clarified in an interview for the Mother to Earth documentary in 2019 that the game's North American box art would have featured the game's logo (localized as Earth Bound then) hovering over the planet earth. And we all know what the North American box art for Mother 2/EarthBound was. So, based on those previous box art designs, what would the box art design for EarthBound 64 have been, had things gone according to plan? Would it have been something vague and stylistic like Ocarina of Time‍ 's box, or something more akin to Mario Party 3‍ 's box art (consisting of mostly character/enemy renders)? The best I could come up with was a Pigmask Sergeant render in front of/behind a render of the Nowhere Islands with the EarthBound 64 logo over everything (similar to a concept box art that Khaj created for the cancelled EarthBound GameCube game on Reddit). But I'd like to hear your opinion on the matter. Thanks for your time! NintenBOUND (talk) 17:11, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

Starmen.net Images

Howdy! For the Cutscenes/Events subpage, I have uploaded cropped images from Starmen.net to serve as GBA comparison photos; I am not in access to any sort of emulator or capture device to properly record images and screenshots from the GBA version of Mother 3. If this is wrong, please let me know, and I will put an "Image Needed" file in its place. Thanks for your time. NintenBOUND (talk) 13:42, 27 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi Again

Hello! Thank you for cleaning up some of my work. I know it was probably a bit messy. That info about Flint's memories was also really cool! Where did you get that? NintenBOUND (talk) 15:26, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
