  • Sometimes during The Noise's boss fight, neither Peppino nor The Noise would scream when the giant balloon approaches the arena. This was also fixed.

  • An oversight was fixed where Refrigerator-Refrigerador-Freezerator was playing an older version of Don't Preheat Your Oven Because If You Do The Song Won't Play (a mouthful of a title), even though the final version was finished months ahead and available on SoundCloud. This was corrected one patch later.

  • Fixed an issue where getting caught by Pizzaface could crash the game.

  • The credits were updated again.
  • The chase sequence at the end of Fake Peppino's boss fight was adjusted again.
  • Some assets were added in Pizzascape, Fastfood Saloon and GOLF.

Bugs, Glitches and Oversights that were patched

  • Restarting a level when the black fade happens in the hub can crash the game.
  • Steam sometimes wouldn't recognize Chef Tasks being unlocked, until the player's save file was reloaded.
  • The rendering would act weirdly when the game window was tab out.
  • The bandito chicken could disappear if approached from below.
  • Resizing the window while a zoom-in was happening would break the whole thing.
  • Supertaunting a treasure guy would kill him even if still underground.
  • The player could get softlocked in the first secret in Don't Make A Sound, if the patrol was grabbed and thrown away from the entrance.
  • The deadzone for the up/down stick motion wasn't set correctly, resulting in the superjump/dive triggering at the wrong times.
  • Hitting two different timed gate buttons while the timer is still active would lock the player out of the Already Pressed achievement.
  • The player could get softlocked in Refridgerator-Refridgerador-Freezerator with the Satan's Choice power-up while landing a superjump.
  • In Wasteyard, the John ghost could softlock the player, if going through a door at the same time he catches the player.
  • Attempts would carry between save files until the game was closed.

  • Fake Peppino's chase sequence again. Yup.

Bugs, Glitches and Oversights that were patched

  • Parrying the piraneapple projectile in Don't Make A Sound wouldn't count towards the combo.
  • If jumpscared by a monster in Don't Make A Sound, the player would be locked out of the Gun-On-A-Stick achievement.
  • The player could get softlocked in the final section of Pizzahead's boss fight by using the swing ding.
  • In Fastfood Saloon, not finishing a Horsey race and exiting the room would softlock the player from going in anymore doors.

Bugs, Glitches and Oversights that were patched

  • Gustavo could collect the big collectables inside a metal block by throwing Brick at them.
  • The player could get softlocked in The Pig City's first secret.
  • From before the Pizzaface boss fight, going back from the Outside room would show the shower scene again.
  • The player could kill the Treasure Guy by parrying another enemy next to him, locking the player out of the X achievement.
  • Peppino could do two big shots at once when equipped with the pistol.
  • The player could crouch after touching a dash pad as Gustavo, breaking the whole thing until the buffer ran out.
  • Peppino could still breakdance when equipped with the pistol, resulting in a lot of particles appearing multiple times.
  • The timed gate buttons would continue to count inside the secret in Fastfood Saloon, resulting in getting locked out of the Already Pressed achievement.
  • Touching a banana when in a 1-tile height space could softlock the game.
  • Failsafes were added to the game percentage, to avoid showing 101% before said percentage is actually achieved.

  • Added a new option under Video to disable texture filtering, when the screen resolution is not pixel perfect.
  • The Royal Flush achievement no longer counts the cards in the secret.

  • The Pizzaface sound and the Trash jump sound would linger even after resetting/exiting.
  • The score wouldn't go down in Pizzascape and possibly other levels during the escape sequence.
  • The monsters in Don't Make A Sound would follow the inactive Player 2 object.
  • Putting the computer in sleep mode would mess up the rendering.

  • the Sharpshooter and the Decorated Veteran had the wrong parameters.
  • Collecting points with Brick wouldn't count towards the player's score.
  • Dying at a boss and restarting would put the player back to the hub instead of to the title screen.
  • Some objects would disappear in Peppibot Factory.
  • The game now detects the gamepad as soon as it boots up.

v1.0.194 (February 7th, 2023)

  • Some secrets were made more clear in their locations.
  • A tip was added in the beginning of Don't Make A Sound, advertising the player's ability to trigger the alarm faster by taunting.
  • Some level design tweaks were made.
    • One of the metal blocks in Golf was replaced with a brick block.
    • The first door in Oh Shit!'s escape sequence was moved up a bit.
  • Changes were made to the prices for the boss gates in world 4 and 5.
    • Fake Peppino's boss gate was reduced from $220 to $200.
    • Pizzaface's boss gate was reduced from $230 to $210.
    • Because of the changes in prices for the boss gates, the price you have to pay to Mr. Mooney was increased from $50 to $90.

Bugs, Glitches and Oversights that were patched

  • The P rank requirement for Fake Peppino was altered.
  • Spamming the Grab and Jump buttons while riding the weenie mount would allow the player to jump while still riding it.
  • The Captain Goblin would get stuck in his animation after returning in Crust Cove.
  • The Captain Goblin wouldn't disappear under certain circumstances.
  • The player could get stuck during the outside room before Pizzaface's boss fight.

  • Added the option to bind gamepad buttons. (This removes the ability to use RB for Mach Dash by default, leaving only RT for it).
  • Added a new empty bind for Superjumping with the controller.
  • Added a new empty bind for Groundpounding with the controller.
  • Added a toggle to disable superjumping with the joystick. (You will need to bind the input)

  • The game now displays "None" when there is no key/button assigned for a bind.
  • The options menu graphic in the main menu now uses the start button when using a gamepad, instead of always displaying the "Esc" key.
  • The Golf Burger now shoots the Greaseball behind him instead of in a random direction.
  • The tutorial text now reflects the gamepad bindings.

Bugs, Glitches and Oversights that were patched

  • The joystick press wouldn't properly reset.
  • The bandito chicken's dynamite could destroy rats.
  • Getting the shotgun at the beginning of War would open up the door at the start of the level.
  • Getting hurt at Fake Peppino's chase sequence would make it insanely fast.
  • Pillar John wouldn't give score.
  • The save file timer would still be counting during the rank screen.
  • The player could get 101% before getting all achievements.
  • The player could get interrupted by the torch projectile while using the supertaunt, locking you out of the No One Is Safe achievement.
  • Peppino's Peshino transformation sometimes wouldn't use the correct animation speed.
  • Swapping to keyboard while the controller was vibrating would make the controller keep vibrating forever.
  • In Don't Make A Sound, the player would get locked out of the Gun-On-A-Stick achievement if doing the first secret.
  • The patrollers in the secrets in Don't Make A Sound would count towards the Let Them Sleep achievement, locking the player out of it.
  • Some level design tweaks.

v1.0.21  (February 13th, 2023)

  • The speedrun timer no longer starts at the intro, to have more accurate times.
  • The player can now bypass custom font creation to use the default font by setting the *_dir variable to noone (More clear example in lang/english.txt).

Bugs, Glitches and Oversights that were patched

  • Resetting the configuration wouldn't reset the deadzone sliders.
  • The player could save the gamepad bindings while empty, resulting in a crash next time you booted up the game.
  • Setting Taunt or Slap to Space would lock the player out of deleting a file or exiting the game.

  • The player can no longer use the Grab button to back out of the Key Binding configuration.

Bugs, Glitches and Oversights that were patched

  • A failsafe was added to Mr. Pinch, to avoid softlocks.
  • The bindings wouldn't display correctly in the Knight transformation when using a keyboard.
  • Binding the Jump button to B would lock the player out of the options.
  • The mouse would flicker when using a gamepad.

v1.0.212 (February 17th, 2023)

  • An issue was fixed where the player could get stuck in the pillar blocks when activating the escape sequence.
  • An issue was fixed where the mouse would flicker in the Main Menu while in any of the fullscreen modes.
  • An issue was fixed where setting a custom language, deleting that language, and then booting up the game again would make it crash.

v1.0.213 (February 18th, 2023)

  • The Credits.
  • The player no longer needs to disable the joystick actions for the superjump/groundpound binds to work.
  • Added some more variables to the base english.txt file for key binding and one of the missing room names.

Bugs, Glitches and Oversights that were patched

  • Hurting Gustavo and getting the "You've hurt" text would show the incorrect value.
    • The total Gustavo hurt count initially also counted Peppino's hurt count, so hurting Peppino 4 times + hurting Gustavo 10 times would say "You've hurt Gustavo 14 times".
  • The player could finish a level at 0 points (doing so automatically adds 10 points to the score).
  • If the player activated an oven in Refridgerator-Refridgerador-Freezerator, then exited and re-entered the room, the oven would appear deactivated.
  • The player could get softlocked under certain conditions when pressed against a pillar block.
  • The walking patroller in Don't Make A Sound would finish the countdown earlier than it should.
  • Some clothes could be unlocked multiple times.
  • Supertaunting could make the player parry.

v1.0.214 (February 18th, 2023)

  • The Credits.
  • The extra pineapple Toppin in Pizzascare was removed.
  • The ability to pause during Pizzahead's phase 3 and beatup cutscenes was removed.

Bugs, Glitches and Oversights that were patched

  • The player could keep the Controller binds menu even if un-paused, causing a softlock.
  • The player could get softlocked in the Controller binding menu by pressing right.

v1.0.215 (February 19th, 2023)

  • A confirmation screen was when changing the Window Mode to avoid softlocking the player (Reverts after 5 seconds if anything isn't pressed).
  • The location of the pineapple Toppin in Pizzascare was changed.

  • The player could skip the houses in Gnome Forest.
  • The bottles in Fastfood Saloon wouldn't give the player any points.
  • Grabbing the treasure could sometimes not stop the combo timer.

  • Pizza Tower is now compatible with the Steam Deck, and its regional prices were lowered.

Avoid getting damaged in the first secret of Peppibot Factory. Survive the first secret of Peppibot Factory without getting hurt.

Bugs, Glitches and Oversights that were patched

  • Exiting at the start of the final phase in Pizzahead's boss fight would crash the game.
  • Pizzaface sometimes wouldn't die on the final hit of the first phase.
  • Dying at any boss wouldn't reset the per level timer.
  • Completing The Crumbling Tower of Pizza using the gate, then completing the final level naturally in another save file, would disable some objects and end in an unintended way.

v1.0.594 (October 23rd, 2023)

After nearly 8 months, game updates resume for Pizza Tower.

  • The game now has Steam trading cards, badges, emoticons, and profile backgrounds.
    • The trading cards can be obtained by playing the game for a certain amount of time.
    • Profile backgrounds cost 500 Steam points each, and emoticons cost 100 points each.
  • A new level, Secrets Of The World, was added, which is accessed from the secret eyes in the hub. The player is required to go through every secret with each secret having a time limit of 25 seconds.
  • The loading bar on boot has been spiffied up, from a basic white bar that travels from left to right, to a full-body artwork of Peppino that fills up inside a pink outline.
  • When windowed, the window outline now disappears when the mouse is off the window itself, instead of only when the mouse is clicked elsewhere.
  • The input system has been refined.
  • A new "Speedrun Timer" option was added, which continues to keep track of the player's overall time, even when the game is paused.
  • Bindings for menu controls have been added, as was the ability to set multiple binds to one move (for example, the player can now bind Z and A simultaneously to the Jump button).
  • The Ghost transformation is now capable of moving in 360° by using a controller joystick.
  • Screen shakes can now be optionally toggled on/off.
  • The pause menu now includes a sub-menu when playing a level, where players can check which Chef Tasks they've accomplished within, instead of having to trek to the Chef Task room's location in the appropriate tower floor.
  • Deleting a save file becomes more visually indicated in the save selection screen.
  • If the player hasn't unlocked the Lap 2 portal for a level, a faint silhouette of that portal will appear in its stead.
  • New bindings were included for the superjump and the ground pound.
  • Default deadzone values have been modified.
  • The Steamworks extension has been updated.
  • Some levels have been updated to be a little more favorable for the player;
    • Ancient Cheese had its Pizza Time extended.
    • Gnome Forest added some Fairy Rats that reward the player with extra points, to keep the combo bar going in sections previously vacant of combo fodder.
    • Peppibot Factory's 2nd lap has been made a bit easier, and the last dashpad conveyor spawns less dashpads.
    • Oh Shit! has extra rats that the player can roll into in the room with Pillar John, also to act as extra combo fodder.
    • Pizzascare has Gustavo destroy one of the ramps during Pizza Time.

Bugs, Glitches and Oversights that were patched

  • The save timer has been reworked to be based on frames rather than delta-time, to fix discrepancies with the usual timer that speedrunners use to time their runs.
  • No additional UI elements appear when the HUD is disabled.
  • The player can no longer uppercut while in the Clown transformation.
  • An issue with enemy hitboxes where the player could take damage from the back of an enemy was fixed.
  • Mach 2 now consistently has coyote time.
  • If killed, Snotty's grave now appears in The Crumbling Tower of Pizza.
  • Resetting control bindings now sets all properties to their defaults.
  • Some discrepancies with audio were fixed.
  • Various tiling mistakes were fixed.
  • The Noise as a playable character, though still unfinished, has had further progress in development.
    • Although no new sprites have been crafted yet, The Noise has received a few new palettes, including a fix to his default clothes.
    • His sprites are now compatible with patterned outfits.
    • The Noise now spawns in front of the door as intended, when the player exits a level/runs out of time.

Halloween Event (October 23rd - November 14th)

  • The save menu has been filled with some festive decorations and a nice orange flair.
    • The unique button for the "Esc" key has been removed.
  • Upon game completion, Pumpkin Hunt will be unlocked. One pumpkin each is hidden in 20 levels (the remaining 10 are hidden in the hidden level), which only fades in when close. When in a room with a pumpkin, a unique sound plays when getting near it.
    • When 20 pumpkins are found, a pumpkin door will show up on the first floor...
    • New clothes are obtained every 5 Pumpkins.

v1.1.0 (March 11th, 2024)

No Steam patch notes this time, funnily enough (thought that might come for how big a content update this is.)

  • The Noise and Swap Mode are added.
    • New Noise replaces the Pogo Noise moveset that was temporarily added in the Halloween update.
    • Some of The Noise's old gameplay-specific sprites have been updated, including his piledriver move, and his rank animations.
    • While the rank animations for B and C have been redrawn, and A's animation was slightly overhauled, the animations for both D and S ranks simply redraw his mustache to be thinner and more on-model.
    • All appropriate missing sprites for The Noise's gameplay campaign have been added.
    • The Doise boss fight has been implemented, having previously only a VS artwork in the files as early as the Octobe22 build.
  • When playing as either Peppino or The Noise, their silhouetted battle portrait now have their facial features visible, resembling to how their silhouetted portraits were sprited back in the early 2019 builds.
  • The Combo Meter fill icon is now purple, but only if it's keeping track of the player's first combo of a level; if that combo is lost and another is started (or the first combo wasn't started in the first room of a level), it will be gold again.
  • When Peppino has a combo that's 50 or higher, the idle TV sprite changes to a previously unused one that was intended for the scrapped Heat Meter mechanic.
  • The previously unused character select has been added back in for Swap Mode, complete with "Move It, Boy!"

v1.1.011 (March 12th, 2024)

Bugs, Glitches and Oversights that were patched

  • The sound test room has been updated to include some revised song names.
  • The game could be softlocked by binding one menu function to multiple buttons.
  • If the player's Noise review is "I'm going to kill you" or "Yeesh...", the condensed save icon denoters were accidentally swapped (Getting "Yeesh" would instead display "I'm coming", for example)
  • The palette would sometimes not work correctly on Noisey in the taxi transitions in The Pig City.
  • The camera would bug out when landing the final hit on The Vigilante's bossfight.
  • The player's sprite would be tiny if they got a Time's Up at the same time as entering/exiting a secret (since the player's sprite gets scaled when entering a secret portal).
  • The player could superjump whilst using the clown transformation.
  • A P rank could still be kept if the player refreshed their combo on the very first frame that a combo would be lost on.
  • Fake Peppino would still be addressed as Peppino on The Noise's first encounter of the boss.
  • The bosses could get stuck in the final phase of Pizzaface's boss rush phase.
  • Fake Peppino originally used The Noise's jumping sound when the player is The Noise.
  • Fake Peppino would display the grab marker if he is stunned while the player is The Noise.
  • As well as some unlisted fixes for Swap Mode...

v1.1.02 (March 13th, 2024)

Bugs, Glitches and Oversights that were patched

  • Like Fake Peppino, the grab markers for Pepperman's marble statues were removed when the player is The Noise.
  • Bosses could still be hit with Noise Bombs whilst The Noise is dying.
  • Other bosses would oddly use The Noise's jumping sound as well, instead of Peppino's.
  • Some button functions couldn't be properly bounded if a menu key and a gameplay key were to clash.
  • The player could keep the Mort transformation if the player exited Fun Farm/Secrets of the World on the same frame as getting Mort.
  • Getting into a mach state after the bomb attack in the final phase of the Pizzaface bossfight would softlock the game.
  • Exiting WAR on the same frame as collecting the shotgun would crash the game.
  • Some collision was fixed for Deep-Dish 9.
  • More unlisted Swap Mode fixes.

  • The final hit on Pepperman's 1st phase would sometimes not work properly.
  • Using a bomb on the final hit of Pizzaface's 1st phase would count as a wasted bomb, even if it landed on Pizzaface.
  • The Noise Crusher could sometimes get stopped by a metal block.
  • Binding numpad keys would show "NUMPAD #" instead of just the number.
  • The game would sometimes not properly reset after exiting a level.
  • Clearing the Confirm key bind, and setting it an already bound key, would softlock the game.
  • Upside-down beer bottles in Fast Food Saloon wouldn't work properly.
  • Some more collision and tile mismatches were rectified, including one in Pizzascape that's been previously sitting unfixed since the Eggplant build;

  • The bucket-specific plugs in Peppibot Factory would resurge after the player exited and returned to industrial_2.
  • A specific trashpan in Oh Shit! had a rare tendency to shrink the player.
  • Other collision errors were fixed.
  • Swap Mode. Can guess this will be the new frequent subject of tweaks and adjustments here on.
  • Pressing any keyboard key while binding a controller bind will stop the player from binding to avoid softlocking, in case one doesn't have a controller plugged in.

  • The Noise's minigun wouldn't use the groundpound button.
  • Rarely, killing a Hamkuff as The Noise would make them respawn.
  • A crash if the player got jumpscared after the first secret in Don't Make A Sound.

Bugs, Glitches and Oversights that were patched

  • Some TV sprites for The Noise's transformations had palette issues that were fixed.
  • Certain patrollers could still be activated in Don't Make A Sound, if they came from a baddie spawner.
  • Pressing Up, Down, and the Select binds simultaneously in the main menu could cause weird issues.
  • Spamming the gun in WAR/The Crumbling Tower of Pizza when passing through a metal detector would make the player keep the gun.
  • Hitting a boss with a bomb and then going into a mach state would make that boss invincible.
  • Getting a Time's Up whilst travelling through the lap portal would make the player invisible.
  • If no save files for The Noise were created, the delete button wouldn't appear properly.
  • A minor issue where Peppino would be stuck midair if the player selected a file whilst clicking on Peppino over and over to punch him.
  • An incorrect palette was used for something in the final Pizzahead cutscene.
  • An issue with the first pizzabox in The Noise's tutorial.
  • Holding Up and jumping off a ladder would reset the player's animation.
  • An issue where the phase transitions wouldn't work well, especially Doise's, when initiated from a corner.
  • The Noise's superjump landing animation was offset by a single pixel.
  • The Escape key couldn't be binded to both the gameplay Pause bind and the menu Back bind.
  • Entering a teleporter whilst carrying an enemy would make the player hold nothing when coming out.
  • Another softlock in The Pig City.
  • The Noise could appear as Peppino for a single frame when getting grabbed by Mr. Pinch.
  • Collisions were fixed, and tiles were fixed.
  • 'Twas specified that a lot of fixes were made to Swap Mode (though they still don't specify what was fixed, for spoiler reasons).
